Just out of interest, what are you guys studying? any of you in College or Uni? and is it related to what you draw...

I'm stuck wondering if I made the right choice choosing art related courses, I should've kept drawing as a hobby and done something like electronics or something like that but... :/

What are your plans for the future?

Working. I decided college couldn't teach me anything I wouldn't learn from a job and it's true. Over the last 9 months I learned a lot about freelance illustration, and although a college might have also upgraded my portfolio and taught me new techniques, I doubt it woulda taught about pricing, copyright and contracts. I recently started working full time as a web designer, and it's teaching me a lot about business and other aspects of the internet and IT industry.
Most of my work has been all to do with art and design, and if in the future I become an art or project director I'll know from experience what it takes for those bellw me to produce the goods!

So Shirai, it may well have been a wise choice to studyart, since if you progress to bussiness manager for example and have to deal with designers to work on your advertising campaigns and logo designs, you'll be that little bit wiser about the whole thing, than a pure bussiness graduate. Hell, you could make the art stuff yourself!

Working! It's my last day at work today! yay!
And I'm going to Art College to do a Foundation Course in Art and Design in September, mainly so I can do Art at Uni since I don't even have a GCSE in it...
But that means, by the time I get to Uni, I'll be 21!!! and 3 years ahead of all the others... *sigh* so old... so very very old...

I'm still in High School....yep..I'm only 17.

But, when I graduate I'm hoping to go to a film school. So that'll be cool.

And work.....uh...I'm just to lazy to find a job now.....BUT a new production company just opened in my town, which happens to be run by my dad's (and mine) friend so I'll think I might try to get a job there this summer and learn some film stuff before I graduate.

AKATT!!! WOW!!! You're all into film and all too!! Sweet!! That's pretty well exactly what I want to do!! 'cept I hadn't got as far as my own production company.

So you got a short film going soon...I'm working on my own too, but I 'm kinda having a hard time making the stuff I wanna do happen on a pretty well zero budget, but it's gonna be fun to do.

Good luck with your filming and all!!

I'm currently studying Graphic Design 3 days a week, while doing freelance stuff in my spare time. Mostly character design work and webdesign stuff, but nothing to really earn a living with.

Which is why I'm studying to get some new skills and to build a better, diverse portfolio.

Another UI hero here I have always had trouble finding jobs. When I get one im find, just im not outgoing enough to find work, especially when there is hardly any jobs out there. But I guess going for a minumum wage fast food job is always an option.

I have been doing alot of thinking, and im pretty set on wanting to go to College/Uni and get a degree in digital art, as to why I've started drawing again in the last couple weeks, and taking a subject that I like (anime) and using that as practice/portfolio material.
Although im not sure if I'll even make it to college this year, maybe next January.

I'm hopefully going to university next school year. I'm going to study engineering. I really wish I could do something art-related, but I don't see myself being very successful in that field.
