I have a question for all you pc heads.

I have a windows xp 1200mhz pc.
It has 256 meg of ram
On board primary display driver with 32 meg of ram
a 40gig hard disk with NWN fully installed.

It runs like shit even on the basic graphic setting. Why the f..k is that??. I went out and bought this game 2day and a f.....g scanner that wont work. Anyone got a Visoneer scanner?. It keeps saying, scanner locked, unlock under scanner. WTF does that mean.

Sorry for the indirect abuse but this is beyond a joke.

hm, hard to say what the problem is from a distance, but I would say try the driver update routine .

So pay a vist to the makers of your hardware (especial videocard, soundcard) and update your drivers.

Also visit the NWN page and see if they have a patch out.

See if thats help.

For the scanner,
Sounds like it is locked(thought my scanner was the only one with such an obscure feat.)

You have to go in the controlpanel, system and find the scanner somewhere.
There should be a option tab for it, where you can unlock it(sorry for the sloppy descripion but I use a localized Win version and forgot how the menus are called in english).

If the scanner cant be unlocked by software, it might be that it has a button for it, on the back of the scanner (thats how mine worked atleast).

oh and please dont double post tnx.

Hm I made a quick search about your problem and it doesnt look good(quite some people seem to have the same proplem but no sollution has been found).

I'd say look again for the lock button (one site said some units have them on the bottom of the scanner).

If it doesnt have a lock try new drivers from the Visioneer Page.

If it doesnt get better after the new drivers (and no one has another Idea), I'd say bring the scanner back to the shop and see if you can get another scanner (HP makes good ones ).

I have a G-Force 2 although it's a little dated now. It hadn't been working properly for like a whole year but recently I managed to stuble accross new drivers that weren't listed earlier in the year and now it seems to be working A-ok!

Neo- your PC sounds decent enough so if all was well it should run better than shit! Giam knows what he's talking about more than I do when it comes to PCs so listen to him Cool to know you finally have one 'cos when they are working, Im sure you'll agree they're good fun - Muah!

damn I was sure I replied to the graphic question allready. So, sorry when this is too late.
GF2 is ok, not top of the line(still better what I have ) but gets the job done, in most cases.
Only thing try to stay away from geforce mx cards, atleast if you plan on playing games.
