Okay, sorry that this is my 3rd topic in a row, but this one isn't useless. As some of you know, I have a hobby besides art, flatland biking. This REALLY inspired me. One day I was reading ride BMX mag, and I came accrow a flatland article called "the Terry Adams Interview". Now this guy is REALLY amazing. This is what it said on the intro, by Matt Whilhelm:
For quite some time I have been trying to think how, in the space of this intro, I can get people to understand just how incredible Terry Adams is. No matter what I could possibly say, words simply do not speak loudly enough. However, since actions do, I will tell you about a few of many experiences with this remarkable flatland pridogy. The first story that comes to mind is last year when an arline lost Terry's bike on his trip to the worlds. Instead of stressing about it, he acted like it was no big deal to ride somebody else's bike in the comp. Not only did he make the finals in the hardest contest of the year, he did it on a bike that wasn't even close to his set up-it even had zero-offset forks (straight up and down), which Terry doesn't ride. At the red bull circle of balance last year, Terry was killing it all day in practice. He was so excited to be there he forgot to drink any water, which led to the most severe case of dehydration you could ever imagine. Terry was so sick he couldn't walk, had uncontrollable vomiting (in my hotel room), and temporarily lost his hearing. With the contest just hours away, everyone knew he couldn't ride-everyone except Terry. Watching him throw down the contest just hours after throwing up was so inspiring, I often find myself thinking about that moment when I am frustrated or struggling with tricks. Terry has won skateboard contests, beating out sponsored skaters, and he doesn't even skate. I have seen him session a lawn chair, a plastic salad bowl and even a shoe. The funny thing is that he actually progresses on these objects in a matter of minutes because he has so much natural ability. I am always dissapointed when people are blessed with talent, but are too lazy to use it. That is not the case with Terry. With the natural ability running through his veins and pumping from his heart, Terry fully uses his gift. I think he could be good at anything. A bike just happens to be his instrument of choice.
