Yup I've read the book, 2 or 3 times. First time I was a dino-crazed 11 year old (loved it then). Second time around, I was about 16 and last time 21... I have to say, the book gets more and more stupid every time I read it. From unrealistic character roles and situations to just plain dull ways of describing stuff Not exactly high literature, but interesting enough to read once, I suppose. I've read other Crichton stuff (Sphere being the hilight) when I was 11/12 as well, but can't really recall anything about style and all that. I just remember I liked it at the time

the first book is just about survival and it was a classic to me. the second book was a little dull but the auther's views and theoryies were amazing. it COULD happen,
although not very likely though. the movie sucked compared to the movie. i don't know about the second one though. it's not just about the dinosaures you know. it's also a little about just survival. so no, it is not the dinosaurs that amaze me it's the book. so what u just said ya little

I wasn't talking about the dinosaurs either - frankly speaking, they were the more interesting part of the book JP was mainly pulp, enjoyable, but pulp none the less. And The Lost World, well... that was just a rediculous sequel, I'm not even going into that.
If you want a story about survival (and oh so much more), read Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Now that truly is a classic, and with reason

Oh, and I'm not trying to be a little , just my two cents. I do like books a lot, but I've grown a bit more critical

Never read JP, I have the movie, but that's it. I don't know, am always turned away from books that were turned to movies or vis versa (such as lord of the rings, Fear and loathing, Seven, IT) I bet there all great books, but i hate reading or watching a story when i already know the ending.

Well i wish I could gib a little more but am drained up book talk today.
