Been chatting with some of the members and we concluded that there needs to be a rule about image signatures. I still wanna allow images and banners for people's sigs if they want them, but before it gets to the stage where everyone has 500KB sigs which take up 800 pixels high worth of the screen, we need to comply to specifications. And they are:

Signature images can't be bigger than 20KB in file size. Perferably they'll be around 5-10KB, but 20 is your maximum.

In dimentions, preferably no bigger than 60-80 pixels high and 400-500 pixels wide, give or take a pixel!

If you want images and text in your signatures, please try to keep the total hight of your signature space bellow 60-80 pixels. E.g: if you want three lines of text, you might only be able to have 20-40 pixels of image space underneath. That make sense?

It's all about keeping the board user friendly but also allowing for some customization of your posts, since after all, this is YOUR message board

Heh heh, I changed mine anyway after I saw that sig pics are not the norm at this place. ^^;

My board has different dimensions (600 wide, 300 tall, 50K) and I was just going with that.

Cool banna kaori. To check your banner specs, right click the image, then click "properties" to bring up the picture properties tab, if it's within the limits, you're doing great, if not, resizing would be appreciated

right click..thats right..keke, i'll trim it down a bit, eventually ^.^;;

how do you get the picture to show? o_o; you need a server that allows direct linking, and most dont x_X is that what your asking?

i have my own domain that allows that ^^ dont know what id do without it. . . but it costs money x_____x

eeeeehhh.....

...ok maybe ...just maybe ...ill leave it the way it is?.....but just wondering ..is there any other way to get something to show up at all in this site i mean i have seen some pics that are posted ...and are visible right of the tread...no link?..is all the same??

you have to use the image tags. . [img]url of image[/img]

its under the 'instand ubb code' when you post

but your picture will just be an X if your server doesnt allow direct linking

- If you've updated your signature, all your new posts will display the new sig. However, some of your old posts may still display the old sig. I think this is down to the forum's Cache- which saves existing forum data so the forum pages can be loaded faster. Hopefully this isn't a problem, but I can clear the cache if need be.
