Hiya Ben! Stopped by to look at all the colorful pictures! Please forgive the language if this is not clear, I am just wondering (pardon me if this sounds insensitive, I certainly don't mean to be but I am curious!) - of what ethnic heritage are you?

I knew someone named Kreftka (?) (similar spelling to yours or same I think) and he was Polish. I must also note that for whatever reason(s), caucasian male anime/manga artists seem to be extremely rare so I am wondering if you are one of them Like I know lots of Asian anime and manga artists (obviously) but most of the "white" ones I seem to have come across seem to be like female!! I don't know why this might be? Do you have an idea?

Hi aspergian. I've never been asked that one before! But I dont mind answering..
I'm a white 21 y/o male born and raised in England Although you were on the right track- My dad's side of the family are Polish. Even tho I have a Polish surname, I dont speak a word of the language or have ever been to Poland!

I have also noticed lots of western girls seem to get into manga art and stick with it, which is great! But there's plenty of guys doing it too if you look hard enough. The vast majority of members on this board are male for example

I noticed alot of people wonder about my ethnicity also I have an english name i'm dark skin and have chinese and blue rims around my pupil. Actually sometimes I tell people i' jamaican but actually i am Chinese, German, and Jamaican.

Thank you Ben aka Bomu! I have had a hard time finding guys doing this... so I'm glad I found you. And it's hard to tell sometimes with aliases, so I'm glad to hear that you know that and you say that. In particular I like your coloring job of Angel (love that show, shame it will be cancelled) and a lot of your female works (can you tell I'm biased? I'm a guy). LOL.

Actually yes I do when I get a scanner or a digital camera I may use that as an avatar or mabey I should post one of my drawings. If u wanted to see a picture of me I would be delighted! but have you ever felt like you are the only one who reads manga and watched anime shows well I do especially since there is nobody to speak to about Manga especially me being the only girl with that thought in my class. I'm thinking of being a Manga ka!

I spoke to my mother which i never really do and told me she bought the house i'm living in from a polish woman she was the last on the block to leave queens. interesting.....
Aspergian how come u dont have the icons for someone to email,u send a private message, ect? just curious

Aspergian isn't a registered member. You can tell unregistered members by the triangle brackets/tags around their name. Anyone can post on the board, but if you register, you'll have more board feature available to you.

Cool question aspergian it does seem like there are very few of us "white" manga artists.
Oh BTW I'm American (that's allot easier to say then listing the 7 ethnics I come from :P )
