okay, here's something I did recently - it's for my little sister who will be 18 in 3 days, and as she likes bikes, and she likes girls, what could be beta??

ahh! me eyes!

okay, at the moment it is a rough pencil sketch, it needs masses of cleaning... the bike took me about 10x the time the cheescake riding it took - and I've never draw a motorbike before, so I used a big reference photo of a silver Beta Techno (the bike in the pic, a trial bike with no seat, curvy!!!) - and here's another reference pic (which I didn't use!) so you can see the Beta in all it's glory...

tell me what you think!

oh, and here's another link which may not work. If you get a picture (or don't!) at this page, let me know, it might need some tweaking and I don't think it'll show up, but anyway.... Cherry
this is just a lil concept sketch of Cherry, main character in the manga I'm co-writing with a friend... she's chancing quite a lot, but I still like the sketch...

Awesome. Girl and bike in one pic

!. This pic is just great. The bike is amazing and the girl damn good too. I can't think of anything critic to say - maybe the size of girl against bike is a bit off? I don't know. The work on the bike definatley paid off.

is that a tattoo on her leg? imo definite turnoff..apart from that she's hot and the drawing is awesome..

um, your not gonna like me after this one, but you could maybe rotate the bike a bit...the side profile is sweet and everything, but if it was on more of an angle then it would give it more flare

i'm looking forward to seeing the finished version

AKATT - thank you! that's very kind... yeah, I thought she might be a little small compared to the bike, m'self, but then she was drawn and.... well, what can ya do?? <> my excuse is that she's a small person!!! no, really! yeah, I want to colour it, but I don't think I'll get it done before my sister's birthday since my tablet has broken (sobs!)... I'm thinking blonde hair, and then a colour scheme mostly based around oranges, browns and yellows, very dusty (especially around the bottom)... I want it to look like all the colours go together for once! << does that sound okay?? what do you think?

Random Task - seen you at PK methinks...??
the tattoo - maybe a turn off for you, but my sister was a bit of a fan when she saw it... also, I was struggling for details as the girl looked so simplistic compared to the bike... and I tried lil booty shorts, but it didn't work 'cause of the difficult angle... so that's why...
I tried to make the bike's front wheel closer to the screen, as if it was skidding to a stop, maybe add some dust clouds or summat round the bottom... but to be honest, I can't really be bothered to do any major adjustments at this stage...

I've had one comment in a different forum that the hands are a bit off - especially her right one - too small?? what do you think?

Good stuff Pixie! Overall it's looking great- both the character and bike. I'm sure your lil sis will be most pleased

As far as the hands go, yeah, a little bit bigger wouldn't hurt. But also there should be more inward curve between the thumb joint and the forearm at the bottom. Swollen looking wrists are the main problem, so making the arms a little skinnier would help also. Her foot positioning looks a little off. both the toes and heel look as though they aren't resting on anything, which makes the pose look a little awkward. I think maybe the leg and bike need to be made to look as though they're parallel. I can't quite put my finger on it, so I'll shut up now ^_^

Bomu - wow, thanks...

(Very chuffed Pixie...) I'll take a look at the wrists (been mentioned a few times now!) and the ankles too... also, I might add some shoes, since bare-foot bike-riding is a bit of a foolish activity at best...

And I rearranged the legs and butt so many times ('cause originally I had her standing on both pegs - but she looked like she'd have just toppled over - it didn't work at all...)
- I've had other people also say I draw heads really distorted - too long (from nose to back of skull...) d'you think it's massively noticeable? and something I should change? (or at least work on..)

Hopefully I'll be able to post the corrected and cleaned up version soon, maybe I'll even get the flats laid out really quick, so you can check out my colour-scheme ideas...

Random Task - thanks, it depends how I do it though, I guess... hopefully it'll turn out okay...

I don't think I really noticed the head being too long when I first saw the pic. But now that you mention it maybe it could do with being less longer.

Can't wait to see the next update

Going by this picture alone, I wouldn't say there was anything wrong with the head- the fact that it's wide is down to her hair.. or that's how I see it ^_^
