Here's a sequential page I'm working on at the moment. It's page 1 of a Deadpool script I'm drawing from.

http://www.stevenpreston.com/dpool_progress.jpg

Pretty crappy scan, but seeing how I'm still working on it, I wasn't too worried about that

'Tis looking great Dragonfly! Indeed, the fact the middle bit it cut out makes it confussing.. or is it case of frustrating? I guess I wanna see a story that flows right away! I'm sure it will. I remember checking out some sequential pages on your site a while back, they flowed well- the guy waking up and getting dressed?
I will say- great start! I wonder why he'd whip out a torch and shine it on his face though?

Thanks guys. You need to see the middle panel to get the story, which I haven't drawn yet lol

The middle panel would be the guy throwing a knife.

Deadpool script? Cool... where'd ya pick one'a them up?
and is that Deadpool? would have to be early-years Deadpool, I guess, since in the majority of the comic he's a weird cancerous-looking freak... it is such a GOOD comic, so funny...

your artwork is really good, tho I agree it's a shame we can't see the middle, and it's a bit tricky to tell what's going on... no dialogue and stuff... so finish it! Or else! Is it going to get coloured and everything?

Thanks for the replies. I have now finished the page and you can see it at the link below.

Deadpool Page1

AKATT: A simple tip I can give you to help make your linework look less dirty, is to use a harder lead. I used a 3H lead pencil on all of this page, and got little to no smudging on it. There was a little bit of fade from me sliding my ruler across the page working on the backgrounds, but that's about it.

Pixie Nim: The Deadpool script I'm working from, is from a script I found on a site called Underground Media. There's a bunch of scripts posted on the site.

You're right about Deadpool's face looking like a cancerous freak, I just hadn't gotten around to adding that stuff to his face, which you can see now in the final version.

As for the page getting inked and coloured, I don't really know. At the moment I'm just trying to concentrate on my pencilling since I am trying to break into comics as a penciller.

Bugsy: Thanks man. The lighting was something I was definitely playing with on this page. When I read the script I was thinking about all these cool shadows I wanted to show.

wikkid! I'm so impressed by that... the linework is lovely... and I recognise my favourite crime-causing superhero now... you've gotta colour this, it's so excellent...
I know what you mean about the pencils... they're definately my preferred medium... so easy, relaxed, versitile and expressive... my inking always looks so poor in comparison to the lines I set out in pencil...
but seriously, this is worthy of it, if anything is. Even if you don't have time or something, you should ask someone nice and talented to do it for you... I can think of loads of colourists who would love something like this to work on!

If you won't, I will! Yes, that's a threat! (heehee)

Yeah, looks great now. So it wasn't DeadPool who was in that bottom left panel? I thought that torch was what he was getting out of his inside pocket! ^o^
Cool looking action/speed lines on the middle part too.
Yeah, it's something I'd like to colour. The way you've darkened the pencil makes it almost able to by-pass the whole inking process. I should check out the script, just outta interest

You gonna do the next page Dragonfly?

great page.
something that needs to be colored.

Only thing is the knive in the last shot.
It seems like it disappear's to much in the bg(look's like it is part of the metal plates and the guy with the flashlight just placed himself next to it:sleepy .
Maybe let the knife vibrate, so it shows more clear that it is just thrown with alot of force and that it is a situation of danger .
