Hi
well the titel and part I posted it in say's quite good what it is (e.g. work in progress of elexis fanart ).
after playing around a bit with Idea's what to draw, I finaly did this pose.

I think its the best pose I ever have drawn so far, but if anyone finds stuff that bugs him please say so.
Especial in this state where its easy to correct stuff.

It is! Can't really find anything outta the ordinary. Yeah, near flawlwess pose and anatomy! Looks like you spent a little more time on this one. The hard part is gonna be adding the details and accessories!
If you could add the fingers, and realistic looking background and a [b]pretty[b] (hehe) face, it'll look ace!

hey thanks Bomu yeah bit more work in it and I guess giving critics to other peoples work started to change the way I look at my own stuff.

more details will be in it(hopefull they go well with the pose).

oh and allready a update bigger in resolution
but smaller in size (cool he ).

I blocked out the perspective of the important FG and BG (did it on PC with Vector Lines seems to be a good technic).
only thing that bugs me a bit is the laptop doesnt look like it is on the desk but I will see how it looks when it cast a shadow on the desk.

so back to the pencil and adding sommore detail's.

great draft. But like you said i don't think the laptop looks right. I think it should be more shallow (can't really explain)

Yeah, an office type setup is a good idea.

I've added a few more details, which might help pad it out a little, and fixed that laptop, rather than explaining it. I've lowered the floor and made the desk shallower. You might wanna change 'em back - just suggestions

hope it helps

Looks cool so far. I like Bomu's background ideas he did with the office type furniture and stuff. I'd probably bring the line in the background, for the edge of the room down more so the room doesn't look to go so far in the distance. I'd then add a floor to ceiling window and some buildings outside

Then again I don't really know if that suits the character... speaking of which I don't know the character at all lol

thanks,thanks... to all of you.

Pixie Nimit's a firsttime to me never paid much (or enough) attention to BG myself which is a shame 'couse normaly I had some BG in mind.

Dragonfly you just read my mind, a big window was what I wanted to have.
In it since I came up with the setting.
For the character uhm mix lex luther with pamela anderson and give her a master degree in genetics.
In other words eviloverlord that wants to wipeout the human race and then recolonize earth with her own creations.

That in mind I wanted to have a clean (almost steril) kinda fell to the office.
Btw. here is another update I think I'm finished with the layout stuff and can move to the final pencils (just have to find a way to blow it up to A3 or A4).

hope the laptop is better.

desk's very big and impressive... like t'lil monster under it... ...but one thing - would she ever be able to get her knees under that desk?!? it's very low! not that it matters, I guess, since making it any bigger would cover up more of Elexis than you'd probably want to...
she certainly looks the evil exec. part! (reminds me of one of my bosses...! )

and the laptop looks loads better... looking forward to seeing some colour on this one, man... Quite enjoying seeing the steps that better artists than me take to creating something actually worthwhile... it's interesting...

Bomu, have you ever considered posting the stages as you create a piece of artwork? I'd be really interested in seeing it... (you know, they do it a lot on Dhabih... but with Painter, which isn't much use to me...)

In fact, if anyone fancies doing this, I think it'd be cool... I could learn something from you lot!
hey, maybe I'll even do it myself...

Pixie

Looking better Giam- much more creative that what I had in mind ^_~ I think the collumns look a little off - the curves make them look as tho thery're bending. Since we're looking at this from an elevated angle, I would have had all the curve going in in a downwards direction. Also, bring the base of the collumns down a little more, or they look like ther're set into the wall. unless that's what you were going for?

Pixie, I've thought about it many times. I still wanna get a CGing tutorial on the website, but for it to be the best, it'll have to be very comprehensive- which will take a long time. I can imagine myself taking screen captures every half hour and detailed explanations to stop people wondering what happens inbetween each step, like so many tutorial sites I've seen. Best I can do at the moment it show some character concepts I've been working on ^_^
But, yeah, I'd still be really interested to see you do one Pixie, if you got the time. I'm sure I could learn something- even if it's just your style of working ^_^

wow GiAm. looking very cool. Love the desk but just two questions. are the pillars supposed to be hgolding something uip or are they just for decoration? Cos they don't seem to be holding anything up.

Also what's the thing under the desk? I don't really know the character u see.

Can't wait to see it finished.

huhu, is this thing on (I'm running out of ways beginning my posts).

so lets see.

Pixie Nim
good eyes you got there I never thought about it.
But your right it would cover too much of here, infact it would hide all here lower clothing (and that could imply things I wasn't looking for).

oh and go on and post something in this posting style 'couse its allways good to see other ways of getting things done (and your way better then me I just got a lucky day here).

collumn&pillars
Bomu, AKATT you both made me think about them more (when I made them I just wanted them so the window isn't the only thing in the back).
so the circle's getting fixed expect for the last where the endpart starts.and there just for decoration (elexis bought a ancient collumn in rome and cut it into two halfs and added them to give the Window a visual frame'ing).

Bomu
instaid of making every halfhour a screenshot you could just make a video and comment them afterwards(I think there are programs that makes avi's out of your screen movements.
Personaly I prefer the ultra short tuts. and if your tutorial is to long more people will stop reading in the middle.

AKATT
It is a creature she created as her little dog(not in game I came up with it)and it chews on a bone(the last employer who did a mistake ).

For this posting style I think of it like having people standing behind you, while you do your work.
The viewers see how the creator do his stuff.
And can ask alot of questions they never could when they only see the drawing. The artist gets feedback of his work and can change stuff when he realizes that something is wrong.
And the best thing is, it is more relaxing than haveing real persons behind your back (no one makes funny noises, people dont complain that your to slow and stuff like this).

phu a monster post and those who read so far
wont even get an update.

but incase I enlarged and printed to do the final pencils and it has crown(its now on 4 A4 sheets making it an A2) hopefully I get the pencils done over the weekends.

If I point out to much, your inker and colourits will run out of deadline, but I will say, make sure to get a nice clean scan for the final!!
I suppose I had better do an Elexis too but don't have much time (just started a new job).. Just a head and shoulders again might have to do >_<

*has been lurking and watching the progress* X3

aw man its looking good :3 and lowering the table is a good idea since we can see more of her gorgeous legs! XB

I think with the backgrounds the buildings look as if they are just across the road :3 adding extra floors and a billion more windows! X3 should help with the perspective a little, oh I noticed with the roundish building that you've drawn the lines bending outwards, it feels like we are looking up at it from below

infact I think you may have to straighten the buildings, since we are at a good distance away from the window and looking straight ahead and most likely really high up, theres not much of a perspective with tall and close buildings.

I think I'm being picky with the perspective Xp

Good Luck :3

it's coming on great GiAm!! Justa a few things i've picked out:

Well the buildings have been mentioned

The window doesn't seem to be ina frame. Know whatta i mean? It may look more realistic if the window had a frame around it.

Is there someone else in the room? I think that the cigar is facing the wrong way. If she just put it down she's more likely to put it down with the grip part facing her. It kinda looks like the cigar belongs to someone else.

Last problem i noticed - there seems to be a crease going all the way down the page

can't wait to see it finished

The Cigar is in the wrong place?!?
you are all thinking I still have plenty time for this right (just kidding if I have enough energy for it I change it ).

yeah the frame for the window bugged me a bit too but I decided to fake one with a bold outline .

the scan isn't the best but the finished vrsion will be clean.
