A fanart of that online rpg called Ragnarok Xp

At the moment I'm pretty baffled with the sword :/ I know it looks flat at the moment noticing that I wandered off to erase and draw it again BUT i can't get it at the angle its ment to be >:/ looking at the handle and then the blade you know its out of place Xo not sure if i'm explaining it properaly Xp

I even tried to draw it fully to see how it would look when being partly concealed... then sudenly I thought... omg! I'm drawing bloody rubber knives!.. I think the heat is getting to me -_-;;;

If anybody knows how to draw a sword at that angle It would be sooo helpful, help this poor stuck soul Xo

You know how much I love this already XD But I think I found one small thing with the sword that might help. It's so small that it prolly might not tho the part of the handle that 'behind' the hand (where it almost goes behind his back), is too far down I think. It gives the impression that the blade is gonna bend down o_O; I really have no idea if it matters tho :

aiya :/ nobody has a solution to the sword problem Xp

I'm going to give up and draw a new position for the arm and sword... I mean c'mon its a bit wierd for someone to hold a sword like that right? :3

;;_;;

AKATT: Yeha Thanks X3 and the sword is a problem wasn't sure if any knew how to help :3

del: Its ok :3 the hand does look odd, now that you mention it the whole arm looks too straight Xp thanks

Bugsy: Ahhh didn't notice that Xp it looks like its sticking into his rear, more the reason to erase and start again Xp Glad you like it X3

ups I guess I'm a bit too late .
but maybe it still helps.
When you draw a sword remember that the blade is a 3dimensional object that follows perspective like everything else.

here is a small pic to show what I mean

For the question if he can hold a sword this way:

I would test it myself by picking up some stick that is similar in length as a blade and than pose it to see if it is comfortable to hold(but remember that a sword is made of solid steel).
And if you do it in front of a digi-cam or a mirror you can also see how it looks(or trick someone else into modelling for you .

oh and like metalman said take the jaw out of the skull (it isnt holding that well to the rest of it without the muscles ).

I had never really heard of Ragnarok until you and bugsy brought your fanart to the board! I thought I saw someone one eBay selling their Ragnarok user account for over a $1000!! Is that true? Playing online games seems to be an investment these days

V. Cool looking pic Shirai. Folds must be one of the hardest things to master when drawing, and I'm sure you're definetly on your way there! I'd definetly like to see more detail in the BG. If you can develop it and get rid of vast areas of white space, it'll look great!
