This one looks a lot more solid than your female character.. Granted it was a 1st try. The giant pencil turned out well, the proportions arn't too bad, but as metalman mentioned in an earlier thread, the neck looks too abnormally long. Maybe add some more details like shoe laces and trim on the clothes and I reckon it'd improve it lots.

But isn't it a little big for an avatar?

looks like it could make a good avatar.

The pencil gets smaller near his neck leaving the impression that the pencil bends around his neck.
Use a ruler to get it right also add a little foreshortening to it.

And as Bomu said more details.

Bomu I'm sure you made the ninja straight in a 80*80 square .

I changed the pencil,it looks right now,and added some detail to the pants and shirt.as for the neck, thats a style issue. If youve seen the Final Fantasy Tactics art, they got real long necks too.so do alot of other people.

Thing is, those necks fit the style. Here, it looks kind of like someone pulled on his head for a while and stretched his neck out. I think you're better off to go ahead and make this proportional.
