Umm...this is something I just sketched last night and wondered if there were any changes I needed to make before I go ahead and CG it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey looking really good so far, but be careful with the weight in your lines. Thicker lines are usually used to suggest darker areas, or areas furthest away from the lightsource. Maybe adjusting the line weights can help! If ya don't understand what the hell i'm saying just hop over here:

Read through the post, it has a lot of useful information on lines.

Yeah I pretty much agree with what's already been said. It's important to have the CG stage in mind when preparing your linearts, a lot of the definition you have drawn would be better achieved tonally at the CG stage.

Overall though a good effort, I like the pose and I think the way you've drawn the hair is cool.

Ok, Here's a rough colored version of the pic. I still feel there could be some improvements that could be made, I'm working on it but if anyone has any contributions then it would be a great help, I still have to do the final version.

the cg seems to sggest that the light source is coming from the front but the inking suggests that the light should be coming from above somewhere. Kinda makes it a little confusing. since the inking would be the hardest to rectify i suggest redoing the cg.

well as AKATT said check thw light source (it is good to think about lights atleast before inking) the next important point would be working more on it.

For example the background.
Right now it is only a simple seemless wall texture with a spotlight (Filter).

Look at the walls surrounding you. give it some dirt, shadows, maybe hang a picture on it.

A good thing would be looking around on the web and find some tuts about game textures, it could be helpfull.

Same goes for the rest of the colors it is a good start but it needs some work.

btw. normaly skin is'nt yellow.

overall I hope you work on it 'couse it is a good drawing that just deserves a good cg.

Hey guys,

Thanx so much for the feedback. I think I'm gonna start working on this again. Start from scratch. I was thinking that since the lining is really too thick and the body too muscular I could outline the whole thing again probably using PSP or Photoshop. I know it'll take some time but I guess I'm just gonna have to keep the CG in mind while beginning the linework and I think I should clean up the lines better. Also going to cut down on the muscle definition. I'll definitly check out some tuts G.I.a.m. thanx for the tip. Thanx a lot AKATT, slumdog, tuigi, metalman, sentient, ayzie for your help as well(hope I got everyone...). Gonna work on this baby from scratch and do it right this time. Ciao for now.
