Finally got back from a road trip. Last night I sketched this up and colored it. Took me about 1 hour to sketch and around 4 hours to reach where I'm at. Since I drew the pic on an A4 paper I didn't have much room for a background. I'm drawing the background on another paper and planning to incorporate the image. Though I'm kinda stuck on the background, any suggstions I was kinda thinking of a forest scene but not sure what. I also have to finish work on the shadows and highlights and smooth out the lines. On a personal note I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions and critiques it really helped me see my mistakes and refine my technique. Ciao for now.

Where'd you go on your road trip and why? heh
Easy idea for a background! - Have him hiding behind a big rock, like hew's hinding from somone. And maybe that someone or other people looking for him, so he's hiding from then, and waiting the spring out and attack. hey, works for me

hey cool ranger. the only thing i can think fo is the lighting. most of the pic suggest that the light sourse is from above, but the right boot and breast plate suggest it's from the top right. Then again, you did say you haven't finished it.
As for the background i can so see Bomu's idea working.

Well, I went on a road trip to Dallas with a couple of friends cause we had nothing better to do. So basically we caught up with a couple of friends in Dallas and partied. That's a great idea for a background Bomu thanx and AKATT I'll get cracking on that right boot and breast plate.
