hmm...you might want to motion blur those rocks slightly...
is best to make a marque around it....and go to motionblur at diff levels for each rock so that there seems to be some distance

sounds like a plan, and a good one at that, but I have no idea how to motion blur individual rocks, I only know how to motion blur the whole pic.

Its relativ easy in PSP when you know how .

One way would be this, just make a selection around the rock you want to blur, before you use the MotionBlur filter.

You could also do it by hand with the smudge tool (the little hand, set to smudge, play around with the values).

Best would be, ofcourse when you had made the stones on a different layer (layer, new).
This way you wouldnt have to worry about the rest of the drawing.

Other than this I think it looks ok, have to agree tho the other looked a bit better.
The shadows could be darker to improve it.

thanks for the info, I may try that, but I dunno, the rocks arnt moving that fast, at least thats not the impression I was trying to give, just that they were rising from the earth off of his extreme power, it doesnt help that I just got a new comp, and all of my CG, and scanning tools are on the old comp, so I am bouncing back and forth between comps lol

well I blurred the rocks, but not too much, and I also removed the motion lines on them, I want to add a glow to his hands and lightning (red) but my glows never turn out right, and no matter how randome I try and make them, my lightning looks patterned

to individually blur something..just choose the marque tool, and circle around something..then Filter > Motion blur

as from your previous pick..you might wanna blur it a little more..make it look faster i guess
or add some flash of light on the bottom or center

to make my intentions on the pic clear, the rising effect was not meant to be fast, any one who has seen DBZ has seen instances of Sayins getting angry, and rocks (and other debris) just seem to start levitating, sometimes fast sometimes slow I tried to give the inpression of in between
