really good lines imo~ :3
About your cg; I think if you shaded and hi-lited on top of a base colour it would look better. The same would be for the axe it should look better with texture after you got it coloured.
I think Bugseh might be the one to look for on textures~ lol
I'mean there's another way of getting it looked textured and that is to draw cracks, dents and other inperfections a blade might have and to give it depth you add a little shade/hilite to the edge of the crack~ something like that Xp for reference look up Battle Chasers by Joe Mad.
Not trying to force you into a style but giving you an idea :3
Your sketch looks good~ perhaps the left arm could be a little longer, i'd say you should colour this one

Practical agree with Shirai. Metal texturing is hard (cant do it myself to good), but I think dents and rust would suit his weapon pretty good.
Btw. little tip use a darker color than white as BG.
Oh and I would like to see a cleaned and colored version of the other guy aswell the scetch is really good.

Cool, quick service . Looks very good overall, but the eyes looks alittle weird now (wasnt a problem in the sketch).
Darken the eyebrows so that they contrast more from the eye. Right now it looks like they are a part of the eyes, giving the impression that his eyelids are stitched together.
Other than this I I think it came out great.
Any chance we see a colored version (in whether media it is colored).
