Reading the Dune books again, by Frank Herbert. As always, they inspire me to draw. Im trying to go for a night scene, and some parts are obviously incomplete. But im working on it now, so post any and all comments as soon as you can.

Time so far: about 3 hours ( dosent show, does it )

that looks great so far! Night scene is an interesting approach to go IMO (considering its all set on a bright desert planet) so I'll be keeping an eye on this one!

Fair enough... HOWEVER fremen could also stay cool by wearing refridgerators on their backs while travelling, but you never see that eh?? eh?????

that wouldnt be practical. staying cool is not as important as conserving moisture, which is what they wear stillsuits for.

well this is all a moot point really, because IMO fremen are just cool, funky stillsuits and shouty guns and everything!

well Angelfire are just stupid aren't they. And what are the names of the guns they use in the movie (although they do use knives a lot, I remember now) but they have these guns that you shout into and it blows stuff up. Paul Atreidies gives them to the fremen.... argh what were they called? This is gonna drive me nuts.

Well dunno the excact name of them,but in the movie they had some kind of sonic weapons.
This is one of the points where the original movie is not that close to the book.

In the book the fremen where very skilled knife fighters and instead of some weird guns the atreides teached them some even more effective knife fighting technics (think along the line of martial arts).

a shame that your account is closed, as far as I remember it looked very promising, what you had painted.
