haven't cg'd for a while so here's my latest attempt after a long time. my scanner's been broke for ages so haven't been able to upload my lineart. instead i'm using some old lineart by my mate Nacrisa.

i'm trying to create this piece by using the lineart for crating the flats only and then working on it without the lineart. what do you think? i know the definition is not great but i'm still working on it.

here's the original lineart:

Wow that's pretty cool Akatt. The shading looks realistic and the piece itself looks like one of those 3D animation films. Sorta reminds me of graphics on Final Flight of the Osiris, from Animatrix. (except more anime stylee, of course ) Lookin forward to seeing the finished version.

I like the shirt and the skin a lot, and the colour choices are very good. =) the only thing I want to mention really is the hair - it looks a little smooth to me, and could do with more texture, and possibly more contrast too... that's the only cg-related crit I have. =)

watch ou tnot to make the expression change while CG-ing
if you look at the line-art it looks like a completly different expression.

Angelo - thanks dude. i was trying to make the pic as 3D as possible, glad it seems ro have worked out

Pixie - thanks. yeah i always have trouble with hair, it looks a bit too clumped doesn't it? well i'll attempt to fix it once i've done the rest but who knows...........?

Tuigi - yeah that's true. but it was kinda hard getting the smae expression cos in the lines art you can see the eyebrows and eyelids continuing into the hair (which suprisingly does make a lot of diff). anyway i doubt i'll be changing the expression that much more now).

will post an update once the trousers are done, thanks again everyone

looks very cool akatt.

Only critic I have, are the two lines under his nose.
They are to bold.

Make them a little less dark and more importantly give the the left one ( ) a long softly fading shadow that almost reaches the right one.
Do the same with the highlights (this could also help a little with his expression).

But otherwise great looking forward to the finished one.
