Hello there, I was looking at my drawings and noticed that the majority of them were of people just standing there with no background or anything. I thought I would try somthing different for a change Here it is She is supposed to be taking part in some sort of race, I intend to draw her running through a forest up a hill side. Your crits would be helpful and appreciated as would tips or links to drawing backgrounds (in pencil). Thanks again

very nice. Maybe her arms could be "swinging" a bit more and maybe she has too calm a facefor somebody running, but otherwise it looks good

Not bad.. Hmm.
I will say it looks like she is running down a hill but not up
Probably a few more strands of lose hair floating in the wind. More detail on the hair would be great.
Your hands look good in placement, Your anatomy is fine Your shoe is interesting
Should bring her legs out forward more looks like a painful next step. Her torso (breast) looks too exact slight change in size would add a turn stride effect. A slight curve (or two) in her chin and nose would be a plus.
Nice sketch, keep it up.

Yeah, this pic is really good, but a few details like moving strings or so could advance it in another way.

Thanks for the crits so far guys, although I'm not sure what you mean about turn stride effects Dekar. As far as movement goes I was going to blur the background slightly to try and give that effect. Again my termanology is not what it should be but if moving trails are what I think they are then they would be more use in action scenes e.g some one throwing a punch. It may not look like it at the moment but its not what I am aiming for.

Always if Ido pics like that, so moving ones, I try to imagine the pic made by a real specialist or how it would look in an Anime etc. This often helps. Additionally the physically theories ought to be known for that.

Alright. Another thing could be the ground shadow of the running girl, but it won't change the movement of the girl. Just an "landscape tip"... lol

I've coloured her and she was leaning a bit to far forward ( a painful next step indeed ) so I have stood her up a bit straighter, just need a back ground now

Okay! Now it, the link, works smoothly fine and it's very good!! Congratulation! Maybe the right elbow is still a bit flat if you look down the arm from the shoulder, but that's really the only thing that COULD be changed, but this makes the figure special anyway. lol How did you dye it? With felt pens or with Indian ink?? I always prefer like to use several pencils for shades etc. ... but why not dye it... cool!

Cheers Venom. Didn't dye it at all though I cheated and used Paint Shop Pro to colour it
