Ive entered a Halowe'en competition on polykarbon and this is gonna be my entry. Gonna cg shortly. Any feedback on how it could be improved would be welcome as I wanna win. btw it was on a3 and as it was so detailed I couldn't scan it in two halves so I went to a copy shop to reduce it, and I didn't notice the cut his other foot off was a good foot too lol

It's pretty cool. Reminds me of something outta Evil Dead!

Nice neat line work, the folds are good.

The table thing in the BG is weak- needs some cracks, moss and grime in there me thinks, maybe you'll add it at the colour stage? The basket(?) on top of it is off- wrong perspective, so it's looking unnaturally tilted.

It doesn't bothe me, but you may lose a few marks for the pose, as it looks very similar to one of Berne Hogarth's poses- I imagine it was probably referenced, but that's what anatomy books are for!

I've been considering the yearly PK Halloween comps since they started. I guess I'll leave it this year. There's always a lot fo good entries, so I wish you luck!

hehe well spotted on the hogarth pose. do you think I should mention it?

I suck at drawing circles in perspective. moss and whatnot I shall add however I was thinking of trying to make the basket look like it was running away or something to solve the problem ;p

you should just enter your witch one lol thats a great pic and im sure you won't get caught out

Perhaps just mention you've been studying Hogarth recently?

Basket running away? Lol! I would like to see that! But if you wanna correct it, I've drawn up a quick demo:

Basically you need to show less of the top of the basket by making the top/oval thinner. I dunno if what I've done is much better, but you get the idea

phew well this is it so far. I can't tell if the brightness is ok till Ive finished and print it out though as Im on a silly flat screen.

let me know if you think the colour scheme is going in the right direction and thx for the draw-over btw

edit: ok I know ive been banging on about this, but on my screen when I look at this theres a perfect example of the graininess ive been whingeing about- is it just my comp? it shows up to me like its drawn on carpet or something lol

Looking good. I take it you'll be adding highlights to the hair and shorts later?
