Thought Id post something im working on at the moment seeing as Im bored of actually working on it lol. Its for a game I'm involved with.

Its going to have 3d rendered spaceships and spacestations in it eventually, and im gonna give the ships colourful engine flares to contrast with all the blue.

Looking good

If you need more contrast with the blue, stars come in lots of colours try adding a few more of them and if your lacking inspiration then perhaps a look at the hubble space telescope pictures will give you some they are here, so pretty!

Very nice jats! As you might know im very into the space program and im all for the moon, mars, and beyond missions. At www.nasa.gov they also got some cools pics to study. Keep it up and what program are you using. I would love to try and do some 3-d art work.

cheers guys. I will be making the stars more detailed, actually I realised a little while a go some of the variation on the stars was lost when I flattened it for some reason (that seems to happen in photoshop sometimes, and I still havent worked out why

)

This picture is actually 2d - I did it all in photoshop.

*edit* oh and those are some cool pics from the hubble. I ahve a feeling they colourise their images in some way though, but I might be wrong

Amazing! The border and the font (or the color of them) kinda fake it look old-fashioned... just my oppinion?

Actually Jats your right! Most of the pics you see taken from outer space have some kind of filter or filters on them. Lots of the pics of dust clouds, extreamly large clouds of mainly hydroden gas are invisible to the human eye. Their takin in infrared and then they are colored. So the pics you see arent always the same as in space. If you look at on the nasa site they usually tell you if its a true or false color pic. Thats cool that you thought of that Jats.

Commenting on the hubble pics they are as the telescope sees them... well to a degree at least the telescope takes 3 images of the same piece of sky using a number of filters including Red, Green and Blue. The images are then sent to earth in greyscale where the seperate images are then recoloured by colourising the grayscale images red, green and blue and then combined togeter to give the final image. Hope this clears up that point! Although they also colourise some images to enhance the picture especially if the image was taken in the infra-red or ultraviolet wavelengths which we cant see!
