O_0 a new forum - been looking for somewhere new since my last 2 home forums have died, or in the case of sycra actually ceased to exist. Anyway, art, well i did this last weekend, my second outing in painter (the first being so terrible it lurks somewhere in a subfolder). Lines by FENG ZHU, total time probably in the region of 4-5hrs.

Looks great Gramps and welcome aboard ^_^ It's cool to see you've improved so much with your colouring over the past year or two. Yeah I though this one was done with painter even if you didn't say- do you find it quicker or easier to use than Photoshop?
A little something you could add to this one would be some shadow on the floor.. just so you can tell he is standing on a solid surface and not floating in thin air.

i really didn't find it quicker than photoshop - this is all one layer so i had to be really careful all the way thru. also the colour selector is so shit on painter - the colours don't seem to come out properly. but you seem to be able to get a better end result with less effort - the textures and blending just give a good effect without having to try very hard. can't do normal skin for shit on painter yet - finding it really hard.

While it's pretty much a given that anything you colour will turn out wonderfully, I'll comment on the fact that you've done an especially nice job on the metal surfaces. Good show!
