Been a fan of Bret for a while - finally refound his page on a links site the other day and decided to colour this. Pretty pleased with the result - might fiddle with some values to get it just right - but for now it's done. Real pleased with how the water came out cos it's a real bitİh to do. Anyway - mostly PS, except the sky which is painter.

Enjoy

I hadn't heard of Bret Denslow before, nor had I head of Feng Zhu (?)- where do you find these guys?? However, I did find this web site the other day- the art's a realistic mix of 3D and photoshop and the best f*cking art I've ever seen! Not to mention the site design being nearly as cool as mine hohoho (will post a link when I find the url again)

Anyway... You've done a great job with the colours on this one Gramps. The skin tones and swimsuit are rendered really well and so is the water- I see why you're so pleased.
Two things; the water splash and the drips on her look very thick- more like paint, and although I personally couldn't have done a better job, you need to make them look more opaque by adjusting the opacity level and colouring the actual lines blue rather than keeping them black (If you don't know how to do the later, let me know and I'll try explaining).
Other thing- I reckon it's look a lot better if there were a light shine in each os her eyes. It's make her look cuter and less psycho looking ^o^

Great stuff though- it's got that very dark kinda look, which you've been using a lot lately. It's very 'gramps'

ha - "very gramps", it's weird when ppl use my name to describe things - i had someone "pulling a grandfather" last week.

Er where do i get these artists? well in the early days i use to use the web the old fashioned way, like when it was a web of linked pages with no portals. Just searching ppl's links and forums and stuff until i found stuff i liked.

As for the pic, there's a consistent reply to this across the boards, so i have a fair idea what needs done, but not necessarily how i will do it.

And colouring the lines in? Please tell me your taking the piss mate?

Colouring the lines is easy as long as you don't try doing it all manually!

See: http://www.organicmetal.co.uk/technique/readyc.htm

I'm not sure how you like to work or prepare your line art for CGing and this technique doesn't work for the "Multiply" layer... So, without repeating myself, visit the link- get to the bottom stage then simply select the top layer (Outline) keep 'preserve trancparency' or 'lock' checked and simply colour the black lines without worring about adding colour to the rest of the pic! Real easy when you know how. If you get stuck with it, let me know.

looks cool!
Maybe it'd give a neat effect if you put some subtle highlights/glow on the water splash (and perhaps small star-like glows like drops that can hardly be seen).
