While sketching this picture I decided to draw a dress for the character but not having the knowledge of dresses I went and got help XP The person that helped me was ScarletHawk so I owe it all to her for helping me complete the sketch :3

Then came the inking -_- I wanted to ink over the sketch using layout paper (tracing paper?) and the amount of times the inking went wrong... grr > it took three sheets to get the lineart I wanted. A few shaky lines here and there :/ but Scarlet is colouring it so it won't be noticed (i hope)

oh anybody living in the UK? I'm wondering if the pen "DR pigment ink Pilot drawing pen" is a good pen to ink with or if theres anything else thats better? its sold in WHSmiths at £3 or something like that XP its been giving me some trouble lately, there must be an alternative out there~

Looking forward to more and the coloured version. ScarletHawk's been mentioned a few times here already, but I havn't seen what she's up to these days.

Don't wnna sound bad but I think that the head and neck looks a little large for the body. Can't wait to see the coloured version.

my small critics would be, the line weights on the wings.
While there are great on the wings itself, I personaly think that they distract to much from the woman.
Maybe adding a outline, in size between the wings and the rest of the drawings, to the skin parts could help bringing back some attention to her.

Another thing that is a bit weird when you look for error's long enough .
Is the glass she is holding.
From the way the upper part is drawn, the lower part must run straight through her hand (and I'm sure it could hurt a bit).

but other than this its a great Pic I like the eyes and the detail on the clothing (and the wings are good too ).

For good pens to ink with well I don't know if you get them in the UK but the copic multiliner seems to be a good set (don't ask me about how long they hold I'm at my first set ).
They have 6 fineliner of different size and 2 brush pens in them.

Only downside there are not waterproof (but who wants to run water over their work anyways ).

Bugsy: Glad to be here X3 Can't wait to see Scarlets colouring :3 altho shes a bit stuck for the moment :/ I never colour as much but do you get that problem too? I'm guessing its some kinda artist block thing :/

Bomu: Yeah! I've tried putting that tip into pratice, its a bit wobbly still probably beacause I'm doing it too slowly :/ stupid DR pen leaves a faded trail if I go fast :/ The wings I wanted to give an unnatural look to it, wasn't sure if it would look good elsewhere still I should try it on my next work :3 Yeah I should order myself some Sakura microns or maybe the graphic design center down covent garden might have them... Just want to see if I can find a retail that would order them or even stock them, unlikely though :/ know any trust worthy sites? :3

AKATT: Thanks :3 I wasn't sure about the head myself till you pointed it out XP I think its a habit of drawing long faces. Yeah the ink does fade out when you erase the pencils Xo I didn't want that with this pic so I placed some layout paper over the sketch and inked that way :3 You should try it X3

G.i.A.m.: Thanks for the welcome XB, now that you mentioned it the wings do distract attention to the lady Xo I just relized that the first thing I see is the wings! *hangs head in shame* I'll remember that next time. Ah the glass incident, I tried to pose the hand like how a rich posh type person would hold a glass of wine XP I should've used a mirror instead XP

I think water proof pens are good for people with sweaty hands XB

I should really go down covent garden to that design center and get some new gear... I'm not up for going down dark allys on my own but they say the pen is mightier than the sword right? XB my DR should do some damage against knife attacks and thugs X3
