cool stuff... definately sounds like an excellent pratice regime... ;)

as for the crits - I don't think her chest's too big, although could possibly do with being a little more curving? inverse curve from shoulder to nipple, I think, maybe (though that might just be me). Her face - forehead line seems completely undefined. It makes her face look a bit wide and fat - and a bit unstructured. If it were me (and you know what masculine faces I draw!) I'd have the line immediately next to _her_ right eye curve in more, and maybe have the line from her hairline to her eyebrow a little flatter. But then, as I said, masculine face... : /

the arms and the curve of the stomach and back are great, spot on. I particularly like the way her skirt bunches out like that around her hips...

any chance you might post the reference picture? I'd love to see it!

I like it. Theres stuff wrong with it but im starting to see that if these are slight mistakes they can give an artists art a distinctive look that helps it stand out. DBZ is full of em and it's probably got some of the most memorable characters of any series. Outlaw Stars Jean is a good example. Look at the guys waist, chest. Wrong but you start to accept it as the artists style.

In short, mistakes can be an artists flair in disguise. If someone looks at it they might say, thats GIAM's work simply because of the slight proportional eccentricities.

It could also be your own individual style creeping into the anime art style you probably learned by mimicing others work.

Keep drawing GIAM.

Pixie nim tnx for your critics/suggestions I'll definitiv keep them in mind when the next 3/4 face comes

here is the reference picture for day one

Neo
could'nt agree more with you.
And I have to admit before I was infected with the manga virus, that I mainly had drawn cartoon style. With characters in SD format and often my heads still seem too big.
So I try to keep an extra eye on it.

ok here is number 2

I think it came out pretty good, tho the pose was a pain in the ass to draw.

sorry for the short reply I'm tired and Charmed starts now, more maybe later.

Great initiative, I oughta try somethign like that, but I'm way to lazy

For the first one, the collarbones ae a bit weird. They seem to form one fluent curve with the chest, which in reality it doesn't. The photograph is a bit misleading tho, but the actual curve follow chest->neck with the collarbones going skewed very slightly. If that makes sense ^^

On the second one the head seems a bit too big, and maybe the chest too broad?

Anyway, in general it's great

Hehe yeah the eyecandy is the only reason to watch charmed (imo).
The quality aint that stellar, but it is a good warm up to buffy (which comes right after, atleast over here ).

hm bugsy we'll see if I can fight my own lazy ass and actualy manage to do 30 drawings.
and now that you mentention it I see what you mean with the collarbones (dang should have paid more attention to it).

For the second,
noticed the chest problem too after I looked at some pro stuff, I'll try too improve it.
The head uh I guess old habits last long.

oki number 3 isnt that great, I think I should do this drawings in the morning, instead of doing them before I go to bed .

hm I think her hips are too small but when I tried to fix it, it just looked plain odd.
And I know a naked angel isnt very creative.
I guess its like the headphone thing, everyone sooner or later draws something like this.

No crits for the nekkid angel just now, but I'll crit the second pin-up briefly, and come back to the angel some other time (if that's okay?)

From the waist up she looks great to me - particularly the hair and face - I love the style of those, very nice! :) But from the waist down I notice a few problems, the most obvious being the size of the girl's arse - it's not big enough! (which sounds odd, actually, come to think of it...) Her legs are great, the arms are great, and otherwise proportionally I can't see anything wrong, but the arse could definately do with enlarging a tad...Only other thing is that her balance is a bit odd, but that's not such a big deal with that rocket-pack thing on her back... it's the feet, the toes could do with being bent more, otherwise she's balancing on the tips of her toes, and she'd fall over...!

crits for angel girl to come later, but I'm not too good at critting over the weekend, so forgive me if I'm a bit lax...

Sure Pixie Niem take your time.

have to admit the jetpack was added couse I realized that she is a bit off balance.
She will lift off in a second so she dont have to balance very long (now that was a lame excuse wasnt it)

Yeah the ass gave me some probs, didnt look right when I had it bigger either (shame on this skinny model I had in the reference picture ).

Tnx, Kaori shima glad that you like the wings.

Ok big update today.

First of fridays picture

Well not much to say about it, a cliche half naked elf warrior.
After a few days after I think her breasts might be a bit too low.

Ok let me first tell you that saturdays picture was pure nightmare, no matter how hard I tried I couldnt get this pose right.
I became quite frustrated.
But I desided to stick with it, unfortunaly it looks like shit.
Hopefully that is my lowest end, quality wise

After yesterday I was a bit concerned how I would perform todays pose and I must say I was suprised.
The pose came easy on the paper (sure had too correct errors but allways had the feeling that I knew what I was doing).
And it is the first one I managed to color.

sorry for the long loading time but I didnt want to sacrifice quality (jpg fucked up the colors).

Oh right now I'm in love with this drawing (maybe I hate it tomorrow)and I cant see anything wrong with it (which propably means that her head is too big ).

Awesome stuff GiAm! It looks like you're improving like crazy by comparing your first pic and your latest one. The figure is top notch! You really nailed the proportions on the colored one.

Just a curious suggestion! I know you're going for a stylized approach with the face, but I wonder what results you may get if you tried following the reference even closer, and go for a more realistic face.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to your next!

Wow, I'm so left behind... I should really check up over the weekend...

Well, looks like you're workin' very hard, man, which is always a good thing...

Okay, starting with cliche elven nekkid warrior girl... Well, I like her loads, and no I don't think her breasts are too low - they look absolutely fine to me. Her shoulder (the left one - _her_ right) could do with being slightly larger imo, but not a big deal, just a minor thing. I also think her neck is little wide - the back of it is the problem, not the front - where it connects to the back of her head and her hairline. Hair's not bad, but could possibly do with a touch more detail? But all of these things are the head/neck area, the body looks pretty much perfect to me, so wikkid!

Bending over girl - okay, I have to admit I don't like this too much. Her eyes seem a bit big, and like they're not both looking the same way. Legs are too short and thin, and the feet look a bit strange. But the pose is a particularly tricky one, not one I'd attempt, I have to admit... The hands are a little simple, too - think this is also the problem with the feet. They need more definition and shape to them.
On the other hand, I think the torso is great - the chest especially. The foreshortening on this works really well, and I like her jacket, too...

And the colour pic - I really like this! It's easily the best thing I've seen of yours. Honestly, I can't see anything I'd change at all, apart from one minor thing - think her nose looks slightly too big. But then, I can hardly talk when it comes to big noses, can I?
She's very sexy, and her anatomy, face and hair have all come out brilliantly... very impressive stuff.

Hope this helps. I've done this a little quickly so it might not be amazing...

Pixie

wau tnx for all the nice compliments, stuff like this is what makes me work hard and keeps me going.
This and critics

Ayzie
I dont think i will do realistic renders with this series. I leave that to my art classes and I think I dont have enough room to bring more detail into the face anyway.

Pixie Nim
Tnx for the critics on the elven warrior, I didnt see the neck/shoulder problems gonna keep that in mind.
As for the bending Girl concrats you even found more errors then me , serious tho I desided to do the pose again when I'm over 20 Pics.
To see if I learned anything, 'couse the harder poses are those I can realy learn things on.
Color Pic glad you like it as much as I do (tho I like the nose like it is ).

and here is Todays pinup

came out pretty easy again, maybe not as good as yesterdays tho.

only thing I don't like about that is the nose thing, again... - not sure it's the size of the nose, just that the forehead/top of nose area should have a more defined break, um... not being very specific, here, am I? just under the eyebrows, should go in a bit more...

very good stuff, otherwise.

GIAM the art assassin. Killing us all with badass art skillz. Keep it up. Love the last one especially. You're really getting it together.

I should do something like this online. I draw at least three pics a day but I dont have a scanner that works.

Any of you U.K. artists wanna scan some stuff for me. Maybe someone could CG one. Id love to see Pearl CG'd. Cmon help a poor artist whos crap, useless PC is more neurotic than Frasier Crane.

Hope my request doesnt seem like an excuse to post a question on a regular topic. I only replied to say how much GIAM has acheived with his art. Cmon people give him a cheer.

And how did you get those lines so clear without pencil marks or the like. They look as though you could CG them so easily without all that fiddly pixelation that appears around the lines normally.
