A tone pencil drawing of Angelo with a sword across his shoulders (not cutting into them, of course - he's that good ). I might have a go at Bio Chaos' jumperless interpretation... Oh yeah Bio, I've started that Duncan pic, and i'll hopefully finish it this week. If not, wait till after the holiday, cos I have no scanner at home - I have to use the one at school.

Hehe G, whatever the hell could you be talking about? Oh, you mean his sword?! I thought you were talking about his - (snip!) About that - OK, Angelo is a strong geezer (though you wouldn't think it, looking at him ) who can wield bigass swords. Besides, it's a trend. Might as well have a go at that. If you check out the site (which I'm sure you will ), you'll find an alternate version of him, with a smaller sword.

Saw that, still a bit long (imo). The thing with huge swords is that they are pretty useless and inelegant fighting wise (from a realism stand)its pretty much getting the blade above your head and let it fall on the opponents head. When the enemy is still alive do the same again. If his fighting style is geared against unarmored enemys, a knife would be a better choice.
But thats just my realism loving .

I like this version of Angelo, the glasses are a nice touch... sorta like an intelligent badass type hehe. Anyway, it's sorta awkward having the feet cut off like that, I think the best way to avoid that is to plan the height of the body out before seriously drawing.
Usually a full grown male's body is ~8 heads tall, and ~2 1/3 heads wide. I know it's frustrating to do all this measuring and stuff, but I find it really helpful in nailing those proportions, and placing the character neatly.
p.s. big swords are sweet, sephiroth/cloud style hehe

Well, actually, glasses version is how he always is anyway. I have him non-glasses when he's in another romance shot with michelle. G.i.A.m - Hehe, just play Devil May Cry, and then you can see how giant swords can be used elegantly...
