Dont like the Background much, just a small tip stay away from filter generated stuff till you are save enough to use 'em in a way they are more subtile (dont panic happens to the best).

The shading is good especial on the clothing, its easy to see where the light is coming from which is a good thing.
Personaly tho I think the Skin could need darker shadows, to give it a bit more depth.

But keep it up, its pretty good for a first timer.
I'm sure if you work on it, you do great stuff in no time.
