Not a bad little comic. It sets the scene well, which it obviously the most important part of the initial few pages. Mind you, some comics rush in and don't illustrate the situation which leaves me feeling confused! It's better than my first comic page at least

Ok I felt guilty about how many picture threads I have compared to everyone else so Im re-using this one lol. Got bored of the hell one, tri reminded me, with his kung fu comment somewhere, that Im doing a kung fu one now. Yay! gotta love kungfu! It features Shen fighting some random kid from the polykarbon board's character. He started as an ancient, miniature statue from the met museum (see speedpaint thread) which I 'adjusted'.

Update! Useful information is: The guy knocked me out in his pages, and parallel to our fight are several other pairs who are gradually getting capture by mysterious ninjas and taken to a secret base.

Im not colouring them partly cos colouring whole comic pages takes AGES and partly because I wanna learn special effects with ink.

Anyone who is able to draw a martial arts person of some kind (which Im sure is all of you) is welcome to challenge me! just post a page or two in this thread and Ill respond Ill probably update also as I do more pages.

Dude that kung fu one looks pretty kickass (and I recognise one of the things he did - when he did that pressure points thing on the guy's shoulder, I think that might have been a Di Maq [I spell that right?] mover). Hehe I'll be happy to have a go drawing a Wing Chun guy to challenge your praying mantis master! (if I get the time, of course).

The hell one is pretty spectacular as well. The thought of some kind of battle in hell sounds pretty cool already - you gonna continue with it?

Thanks man! well everyone else in the hell fightclub kinda bugged out, and it was a pain to colour so im kinda shelving it. the kung fu one is more fun anyway. dbz style energy blasts and flying are acceptable and in fact encouraged. it would be cool if lots of ppl from this board made a character and had a go like the speed painting thread

oh, and my guy probably won't stick to praying mantis - i think Im doing tai chi next, and Ill probably work through several sword styles.. click on the 'shen' link to see his profile

Great stuff -love the Kung-fu comic. Been following it since the start. I was gonna say, the chosen angles are and panel layout could be improved, but the pages tell the story well without confusion, so I'd keep it as is. And although it's full of cheesy lines, it makes me smile. Keep it up

Ding ding and the winner is Jats1! Dude yea that kicked ass big time. That scene where the dragon heads come out of the guys hand is so funny and the badguy ninja are cool too. Comics are hard to do but you did a great job, cant wait till you start drawing comics in void!

Hehe pleased you guys enjoyed it.

Bomu: Originally had the intention of doing really creative camera angles as I am using this fightclub mostly just to practice drawing varied stuff, but looking back I think I got confused and seem to be praticing unusual kung fu poses instead. Any ideas for good angles? I keep meaning to do I good wormseye perpective but never manged it. Also do you mean a more crazy frame system? Ive attempted that in the past, but admired some guys really stubbornly neat square frames somewhere and decided it would be cool if the whole lot was in the same format. Maybe ill change it.

Oh btw this post was mostly to get on to page 2 cos I think if I stick anymore pics in this one it will make dial up users die a little inside Think I need one more to puch it over so some1 say something

Ezekiel 25:17

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I was thinking crazy frame and panel system like you get it some of the typical published US comics, but it's all good. As far as angles go, I'd just check out existing comics and see what they're doing to give u a few ideas.

hehe. Yay! fanart

yeah I might consider it bomu, but i think i might leave it for void, id be kind of nice to have craploads of uniform pages so it all seems like the same thing. Im even trying to keep the style the same though I wouldn't describe it as my best. The idea behind this fightclub is kind of informal, so some people post pages in H pencils that look like rather sketchy rough drafts, Im in a minority just by inking mine lol. anyway, Im trying to improve at drawing fireballs and things in black and white, I can now do some pretty hefty ones in photoshop lol, just wait till Ive learnt maya. So far Ive made a pagoda and a hammer hehe. I might start feathering and stuff in my inks though for practice.
