On the second one, the torso should be a little wider and the arms thinner. Also the top of her head should be bigger. Eyes happen at the halfway point of the chin and top of head, hairlines appear halfway between top of head and eyes, noses appear halfway from chin to eyes, mouth halfway between bottom of nose and chin. (was just gonna type the hariline one but ended up doing the whole thing lol). As for the cging, hair needs to have higher contrast between highlights and shadows. look at bomus tutorial on his site.

Heres something that might help with faces:

Faces

(actually the proportions he said are slightly different to mine. Listen to him lol)

oh yes, sorry I was just trying to make my point. Umm... They're both great, but I'm gona be picky here. The first one's legs look a little squiggly and the second one's head is a bit too big, like what Tri said. I had to get used to making the head smaller than the waist, as everyone that saw my drawings said "nice chibi"; and I can tell you, my first anime drawings would make you puke if you saw them... but I'm not going to get in to that. And for once; I congradulate myself for actually putting the topic subject back in place for once!

the anatomy and the coloring of the first one is real nice ^_~ my problem with the second one is some places are nice and round and others are very very very flat

anime artwork has an odd relationship between flat and realism what make the first image better for me atleast is that the relationship between the flat and realism is consistant *am I making sense? *

its not as consistant with the second picture. adding more shadows and highlights should be able to fix this. i think she needs needs some shadows around her eyes to let us know that the entire face is round

how did you link your image like that without using a thunmbnail? my hosting thing is being temperamental, so I thought Id use the link you provided here, but when I try and link it in a forum, I can only get it to display a thumbnail which then has to be clicked on

Jats, they include a link at the bottom of the page after you upload the image which is a direct link to the picture think its actually labelled as "direct") i just put that address in rather than one of the thumbnail ones hope that helps
