I have recently set up a website with some of my pics on it. Its not very good there not very good. But if youve got the time to have a look and give me some pointers my home page is www.notbored.piczo.com thanks.

lol maybe you should be learning more of the basics and facial proporions b4 makin a website but saying this i still think the pics are good, well if youve only been drawin for a month or so lol. but yeah the site is good just the drawins let it down.

ok, you should study proportions, it will help you a lot more, you can get several books on anatomy and proportions as well, the site looks good, but on the front page you spelled bored like this BOred hehe, anyways, the artwork is good, you just need to study anatomy a bit more to get the jist of things. Good job though! C'est bon!

No i've only been drawing a little while and I don't do any art classes so im teaching myself.

Also Not BOred is a joke to myself because i am dislexic; so my hand eye co-ordination is dodged and that means I take ages to draw a crap pic.

sorry,didn;t know I was just mentioning it because it appeared to me as a typo. I taught myself as well, but just because you are teaching yourself, doesn't mean you can't get out there and buy some books on anatomy and such. So get out there and study anatomy and work hard, teaching yourself is harder in a way, because you don't have someone around to tell you if you are teaching yourself wrong, so i'm glad you posted here to get critiques, the only thing I ask you, is to go get some anatomy books, sit down, and study them for a LONG while ^.^ hehe, it will help you understand, study how people walk, how people move, when you are eating dinner with your parents, watch body language and movements, how arms bend and how bodies twist and turn. The more you study, the more you learn!

helpful advice yes i started out like that too and i'm self taught i think every1 started like that. i used to think that you could get away without the anatomy in place coz "pokemon etc doesnt" but in fact these sort of cartoons even use well placed anatomy which will have taken years to learn. so bassically just study all the time get your brother or sister or family to pose for you and sketch parts of their anatomy like arms etc. or you could just buy dynamic anatomy by hogarth for 20 quid.

I don't even need people to pose for me, what works for me is just watching people and the way they act at school.... and watching the cheerleading teams flyers

The dynamic anatomy book by Hogarth is one of the books I have and a I highly recommend it. It is a really good book that shows muscles and bending of an arm and stance, and balance. Also even the how to draw manga books can help! They are less realistic of course, but it seems you are aiming more at anima and manga. So pick up a how to draw manga book. Those books are great, they discuss porportings, size, heads, hands, etc etc! so have fun! and keep studying that anatomy!
