I agree theres some improvement. I think there's still something to be learnt about the way light plays across three-dimensional objects but I guess thats just down to practice. Also I think it could be improved if the strands of hair were treated like separate objects, and perhaps some higher contrast. I dont know if its still there but I seem to remember Bomu has a hair section in his tutorial, which is a big step in the right direction.

Good work though, I see more improvement in your last two pics or so than in like a year before that Looks like that dudes face sketches were pretty helpful.

Very nice from your last, looks like you're on a good start I hope your on the move to do more as you go. Hmm.. generally I think you did well overall, agree with Jats tho try to separate some coloring different on the figure's hair, clothes, and weapons etc from the body. I like the coloring tho.

I'm just going to point out some odd points and give you some small hints and tips.
(mostly from the direction of light due to your lineart)

1st. The neck area and upper body above the breast is just lacking a bit in color "collar bones". Unless she was leaning over it would be ok somewhat.. sort of looks like she is in the position of leaning over forward creating a small down shadow is all.

2nd. Her lower legs that left leg thigh where her knee is at is a bit out of shading. I know your not trying to go for symmetrics and you did well just that one part is really dragging the picture down. Seems you tried to color as she was leaning on it slightly or either "pushing down on it" getting ready to strike a pose. (if you were try to show more perspective in your future drawings!)

Hmm, if she was slightly kneeling on that foot the feet would be back a bit (lineart doesn't show this really) I would try to dim and rethink how the boot shades would be. The other if she was trying to push down and strike a pose or do some attack I would change it and add more of drastic shade to upper thigh. (sorry won't go into detail there)

Either way I think both are a bit wrong from looking at the lineart. I'd suggest you just up the shade on the inner knee at the joint and shade more upward on the outer joint. (since knee hangs slightly more outward than inward)

3rd. There is a tiny part below her hand that is white space, might be pouch or inner line of her finger gloves. Think you just missed the fill on that, didn't notice it really here

It's very tricky to tell you how to improve depending on what you were going for without really sending you in a certain direction. I'll just say try not to bend the picture lines into your coloring or it's going to look a bit strange. Best solution and I hope you do is try to put more action and pose perspective into your anatomy lineart.

Just a tip I think this will help you go beyond what you are doing atm, try not to "outline" every thing's shape from side to side. You don't have to darken each side or every part I think you know that in general and you did it pretty fair here. Doing that what you did you'll get a odd pop out pic as if she were going to jump out or fallout of the picture. When you add a more rich background later it shows.

Also, I suggest you try to mix up your color choice you don't have to do shadows exact same color on each side. You can do a slightly different color shade than the other but that's a bit more advanced artistic way.

I hope that helps.. and I'LL TRY TO STOP making these post so big.

Thanks Dekar, I went with the advice from your old post, since I wanted to have a go at improving my cel-shading as well. I really don't mind the big posts, it shows that you've got a lot to say

Everybodies commented on your drawing already, the only two things I think need attention next time are your arms (I get that problem when they are crossing the body too, they look flat) and skin colours. I think your darker skin colour could do with being a little bit deeper.

Also even when mimicking hair shadows on face, try and make the shadows on skin follow the shape of the face, it'll help add depth.

The body shape is pretty good, I like her face and the drawing of the hair is nice, it doesn't look flat.

When I was making my slightly unhelpful comment about 3d object shading, I knew I'd seen a tutorial somewhere that explained it perfectly, and....Here it is!

I think this should prove very helpful

im loving the color scheme more than anything! its full of engery and its hot! one small thing you can try doing to enhance the color scheme is try using a different color for the outline, like in the flesh areas.

like instead of using black to outline her face, you can use a deep brown
