Have you improved since you first got into drawing as a hobby or generally over the past few years?
I thought it'd be fun for us all to post our early works to see just how we've improved!

Requirements: Post 1 piece of artwork that you did when you were younger- Could be a 1st CG or maybe when you first started trying to draw.
And post 1 recent work as a comparison so we can see how you've improved. If it turns out you haven't improved, you'll be banished and may never return

I dunno metalman. I'm really glad I kept a lot of my older stuff - not only does it make me laugh, but it's cool to look back and see how much I've improved. Gives a sense of achcivement I feel.

Go on Shirai- show us the REALLY old stuff I actually think the warrior one you did was pretty good! Nice pose.

I'm sure I've got some old bits lying around, which I'll post shortly.. Need to find 'em first ^_~

anyway, here's one, about two years old, my first cg try-out, and one of my first pics in general. Shirai already saw this http://desert-rain.cjb.net/valdor.jpg

Well I always post my new stuff, but just for references; my latest: http://desert-rain.cjb.net/ablaze.jpg

I have lots of pictures from over 5 years ago
I keep them around just incase i feel a lil uninspired or to see how much i've improved.
But I'll never let anyone besides my most trusted friends look at them.
I don't know, I might show an old pic that I'm very proud of one.
Nah whats in the past stays in the past.... well in art i guess.

Hehehe. These are really great. Just goes to show hard work doeas pay off. And hey, it's ok to feel ashamed by your older work- doesn't mean you can't do better now!

As for myself, here's one of my first CGs- from Nov 1999: http://www.organicmetal.co.uk/Extra/Hent2.JPG

And here's something more recent:# http://www.organicmetal.co.uk/fanart/UlalaCG1.jpg

Cheers.

2-3 years ain't that shot a period of time. Plus ya gotta take into account the old pic was rushed and nothing fantastic even at the time, and the new pic took days of hard effort to finish.
Yeah, I suppose it's just all practice and making sure not to rush things. Recently I really started to think about what I want to acheive and how to go about achiving it, which has helpped in the process of creating new artwork.
Just goes to show, if you think I'm a good artist already, give it 1 or 2 years of hard practice and perhaps you could over-take me, no sweat!

Bomu... if any of the members here ever passed you up it'd be the most amazing thing I'd ever seen. I wouldn't be too surprised if a few of them equaled you, but I mean really now... a lot of us are just starting to get going and improving. I have almost all of my old drawings. I just shove them up on my top shelf. They're all in drawing books of about 70 pages each. I have about 15 of them filled up with useless junk mostly. About 5 to 7 of them had serious drawings. I'll post up some of my better, but still old, art as soon as I get my scanner working with my new comp. Just check my homepage actually. It has some older and newer stuff. You can tell what's older on most of the pages.

I've made quite a bit of progress.

Here are some pics from 1993 and earlier (The only one I dated had '93 on it...the others are quite a bit older): http://www.sphosting.com/darkhalo/1993.html

My first full CG, almost 2 years ago (before this one, I was just adding CG backgrounds to pencil drawings): http://www.sphosting.com/darkhalo/shiva_cg.jpg

My latest: http://www.sphosting.com/darkhalo/cronoCG.jpg

I don't have any old pictures but I do have some recently new work. Problem is I don't know how to get them scanned from my HP Deskjet 812C scanner to this forum. If someone would kindly tell me how to then I'd be more than happy to share and get some tips from you great artists.

P.S. I don't know how to shade, it just never worked for me unfortunetly.
