Travis Smith ( www.seempieces.com ) is one of my fav digital non-anime/manga artists. Anime-wise, I like quite a few, but Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Evangelion, Secret of Blue Water, ...) would score very high in my book X3

I can't get any anime/manga really where I'm from, I guess in a bigger city I'd be able to.
So I don't really know any Japanese artists, I've barely seen any anime at ALL, the only one who I remember from my limited anime experiences is the guy who did the artwork for the series, "Serial Experiments:lain" Don't remember his/her name though.
I liked his/her art, though I haven't seen all the parts of the series yet. It was good though, the parts I did watch.

Anyone know his name?

I think you mean Yoshitoshi Abe, he did the character design for the series, so I figure he also did the illustrations on the posters and such...

Frank Frazetta, Mike Allred (X-Force, he's got more of a cartoonish-style, but I really like it), Tony Moskowec (My uncle, he's the main reason I want to be an artist, because like, he kicks ass. If I ever get a scanner, I'll show you some of his stuff) and uh, BOMU!

Yeh, a lot of cool artists - too many to name, but I've always been a big fan of;

Masakazu Katsura - SNK character designer (one of him more recent works was to draw the entire cast of Capcom Vs SNK 2)

Katsuhiro Otomo - Creator of Akira. MASTER of Backgrounds and detail!

Masamune Shirow - Creator of Appleseed, GITS and many others. Really liked his ManMachine book CG art as well as his old skool pen and ink.

Yoshiki Takaya - Creator of Gunnm/ B.A.Alita. Really solid style and designs.

hm normaly I dont remember the names of the people who draw the cool stuff.

But I say take Bomus List (take shirow on top tho) and add

kenichi sonada - charadesign bubblegum crisis gunsmith cats

clean simple style with great weapon details

satoshi urushihara - chara design plastic little the langrisser rpg game series some hentai games and alot more..

A poster of him made me an anime fan.
And he is master of 3 Important things Cell shading, Eyes and Breasts.

Adam warren - bubblegum crisis, dirty pair comics gen13 bootlegs

Unique style and bubblegum crisis showed me, that it is possibly to make comics with cellshading.

Oh they propably dont draw, but I would like to add John Woo and Tsui Hark on the list as well 'couse they both Inspired me and the way I see things alot.

I third that! He is one exceptional artist, incredibly original.

Im really new to this whole scene so I really have nothing to add in the way of favorate artists! Im kinda like what Jackel said, maybe there is anime where I live, but I just don't get around to see it much, or are too self concious to have that sorta medium around (rather not have to deal with peoples intuitions.)

My biggest influence as far as comic art goes was Joe Mad early on. He was the guy that made me want to draw comics.

I don't really look at his art anymore though since his stuff doesn't really blow me away like it used too. These days I'm influenced a lot from Keron Grant and Francis Manapul. I also love Andy Park's stuff too. Looking forward to his Hybrids book.
