So Im in need of some good adive!

I notice alot of pros DO NOT draw on a flat surface (I mean on a parallel plain to the ground), avoid it at any cost.

Im not sure what is better. I am thinking about buying a drafting table, my workspace is too tight as it is so I need one. Just need recomendations, or even better some actually links/picks to what you draw on so I could find somthing similar to that, not be left out cold with somthing I can't use (I am an incredibly bad shopper trust me).

I often just draw with the sketchpad on my lap (using a hard surface under it, tho). It doesn't improve my drawings, but it makes me feel more relaxed. It doesn't work for inking tho

hm I just use a clipboard.
there pretty cheap and you can draw with them everywhere you want.

But for a table I would say, the most important thing is that your paper and your tools fit on it.

And that you can change the high and angel.

I've tried so many methods, but nothing's really better than the other. I use a clipboard a fair bit too and used to go down stairs at 11pm and draw in the living room since everybody had gone to bed! These days I'm working on a sheet of melomine(sp)- it's just a 1cm thick sheet of wood covered in like a smooth white surface.

I've thoguht bout drawing board but they can be up to a few hundred quid($400?) for a half decent size >_<

For now I'll work here in the corner next to my comp, since I have my art materials and a good lamp near by

Holy shit thats a cool room!

I saw a decent drafting table for a couple hundred, I might end up buying it. Im not sure, right now im drawing on a keyboard tray I find it abit restricting though.

Now that I think of it I could really fix my room up and draw in there, right now its what I would consider a "sleep pit". Theres still toys I had when I was like 8 that are lying around in there and im 20 now lol.

Yea I have a desk at the corner of my computer room. I find that place to be the easiest to draw. At night I draw with a pad on my lap while sitting on my bed. But I usually just do quick sketches then.

I don't really find drawing boards necessarily that useful. I use them at Uni for my engineering course. I prefer to use my desk or a wall (especially for big things).

Nice room Bomu, that green really stands out. btw that is a pikachu isn't it?

I think the thing to look for is you can adjust it easily.

My board is a big thing and I stand to use it... love it, can't do without it.

Drawing boards rule (ouch!)

Hehe, Cool room? It's not been decorated for 9 years and is in a bit of a mess and I still have some of my old stuff from when it got decorated all those years back >_<

AKATT ... Err, yes... Just don't tell any of the babes that I have a fat Pikachu in my room!

flashdragoon, cheers. I got that one a few years back as a present but at the moment half of it's covered up by the desk :\

G.i.A.m, Clean?! Ok, well there's not as many papers and enmpty glasses and plates in the pic, but this is how it usually is Yes that's an improvisational light box I made, hey why not? And the Guyver model I bought ages ago from a mail order company, had to still assemble and paint it tho!

I suppose I could post some more pics of my stuff/ models later down the line if we all get really bored!
