Man.. I recently saw your picture of "Jenholidy" and the lines are perfect.. please help me out.. I've been scanning line art for this whole week trying to perfect it! But I can't get it the way yours looks! I want exactly how you do your linework! But I just can't get it! Please help.. I am going to go crazy =pulls hair out=Alright this is what I did.. I saw that you used pencils, so I tried doing one in pencil.
Linework was ok, but not smooth. Then I tried inking it..
The erased pencils kinda smeared leaving the paper diminished.. and thus the low quality line work.. THEN I TRIED tracing my work.. wich came out the best so far... yet stil my line-work SUCKS! Do I need to draw HUGE to get good results? Do you draw covering the whole paper? And How did you get your linework to look professinal with normal pens?! After you scan your picture, do you shrink it to make it look better? Thanks if you answer these questions... help is desperately needed...

hm well I'm not Bomu but a few things that could help-use relativ hard pencils 'couse they dont smear that much -when you have erased a lot, you propably want to transfer your finals onto a new sheet of paper (lightbox) -learn how to get better results with your scanner (Bomu has a tutorial about this in his techniques section) -practise,practise,practise oh and practise. ok maybe non of this stuff relates to you.
So maybe post some pics of your work, so we can get a better idea of your problem.

Well apart from the RPG chara thingy we're doing, I havn't inked anything properly for ages! But I'd recommend, checking out the thread "How do you get the cleanest inked lines? " in Art talk for a start.Keep in mind, you might wanna spend ages on the line art until it's perfect, THEN ink them. Much much easier to erase pencil! To Avoid smeering, use hard pencils and wait 'till the ink fully dries before erasing. Umm, yeah, I do shrink my work after scanning it, since I scan it as a high res, but after it's shrunk down, it basically just looks like the orignal paper version!
