I'd advise watching anime!

Wait for close up shots of character's faces and press the pause button. Then take a quick sketch for reference- works for me!

- you stuffs comming along really well tho Hellangel- looking forward to more!

WHAAAAA!!!! No fair I hardly see any. No cable and the only ones I have are Street fighter and Tekken the movie. Where I live I see hardly any I was lucky to get Tekken. But some 1 told me how I can watch American anime like Angel Sanctuary and Kenshin so I’m gonna do that soon. Those are 2 animes I really wanna see.

But tekkens got some kickass close ups and I’ve found this great anime site which has some real cool Vash the stampede pics lots o close-ups. I think I can find more too.

Ooh thanx a lot of ppl have said that lately cool. Hopefully my CG is better. I Cg’ed Raz or finished him about 2 days after the deadline which made me real mad that I missed the deadline and then I Cg’ed an Angel Jin pic and Woo hoo it made it to TZ featured image. And man are they picky with their art?! Currently I plan on a nice close up CG of Cayan I love Cg’ing eyes and in CS he’s described as having intense blue eyes and jet black hair. His eyes lighten and darken according to his mood.

Hellangel - in the UK the best palce to find anime is always dvd or the cinema. For example, dunno if you're in hampshire or nearby - in Harbour Lights (indie cinema in Southampton) they've been showing Akira recently (which you can buy in dvd also) and you can get A SMALL TINY FEW dvds of anime in large shops like HMV - I've also rented Metropolis recently from Blockbuster.
But anything else I think you have to order off the net - which is crappy since we get so little anime in this country it's pretty much impossible to tell what's good/interesting/what any of it's even about! or what the genre is...?

crappy, ain't it?

Hey thanx I saw akira once but damn I had no money to buy it!!!!! Animes I see mostly are Street fighters, this X thing I dunno, another one I forgot the name there mostly animes I’ve never heard of. Once I went this great place where they had bubblegum crisis, gunsmith cats, street fighters, dirty pair flash, slayers and some others but I had no money again DAMN! I was lucky to get Tekken I aint seen it anywhere else! Animes I really wanna see in series are
Rurouni Kenshin, Angel sanctuary, Vash the stampede/Trigun and I wanna see vampire hunter D I’m a big vampire fan and BT18 says its awesome!
Blockbuster the only ones I’ve seen are Street Fighter an anime movie and this other violent one. Metropolis isn’t that the new one on DVD? I saw that also I think I should go back to game they had Ghost in the shell and a few others.

Just my family think anime sucks etc. But some1 told me how I can watch American DVDs so I’ll defo do that and attempt to buy some American anime like Angel Sanctuary and hopefully Rurouni Kenshin. I’ve always wanted to see that since I saw a foreign version of it and at this site I can buy Vampire Hunter D or Trigun. When I get some money that is. £25 isn’t much.

I know I’m always going insane how we get evrythin last or not at all. I can tell though if Kenshin comes out it’ll be on cartoon network which I don’t have any more GRRR! Hopefully Yu gi Oh will be on TV or if we get Sky 1 back I can watch it on that.

Or do what I do...move to America, and get overwhelmed by anime.(I used to live in England) Seriously, I cant believe how stupidly easy it is to find anime over here. Most of those anime's you've mentioned, I have seen on TV (the action channel...anyone heard of that?)

Hm.. for the expression thing.
I would say take out a paper and start scetching faces (not very detailed small sd heads with eyes, eyebrows, and mouth) play around with them till you have a expresion you like and than use this as a reference.

Hint, its mostly a variation of eyebrow and mouth.

FunkyC - no, never heard of the Action Channel... if you don't have Sky over here in the uk, all the anime you get on tv is like - Pokemon, Digimon, that's about it. You have to have Sky to watch Dragonball Z, for pete's sake... > and I don't even want to!

Hellangel - you HAVE to rent Metropolis, I thought it was absolutely amazing... the art in it is just... wow. It's worth renting it just to watch the fireworks at the beginning... it's just out so most Blockbusters ought to stock it... and the story's so sad, it made me cry...! ;_; I'm so soppy... XD

Also, I heard it depends which version of Akira you buy - my mate owns 3 different copies! One is craply dubbed in American and makes no sense (bleugh!), one has subtitles, but they're about as crap as the subtitles and they make about as much sense... and the other has re-written subtitles, and is apparently very good... so that's yet another reason why you gotta be good to find good anime in this country...!

I wish I could just move to America. I always moan how the UK sucks.

Yeah you need Sky to watch anime but they're not the ones I want to watch. Only a few I wasn't that big of a DBZ fan Gundam wing was better but Tenchi Muyo I found boring. Hmm i'll have to see I saw it in asda and was drawn to it. I wanna see Ghost in the Shell too. Games mags said it was good. 3 Versions? then again I've seen 2 with diff covers!
Aww damn I really really wanna see Kenshin.
First Kenshin is HOT(Long red haired guy obsession) Ooh drool.
Second a no. of sites and ppl have said its one of the best animes out there.
Third I saw a foreign version and it was damn cool so the English one would rule. Can you buy it on DVD? Cos then I'll do what one of my online buddies suggested. Ooh those Kenshin pics are sweet got any more bigger ones?
