Ya know ive never really faced that kinda thing before...... thats a lie actually here's a little story. Back through my days in school I've always been "that guy that draws". Oh sure there were others like me but some how i always came out kinda on top either by awards or just things i drew-machines cars stuff like that. I never critisized anyone else tho, the reason why? Eventually i attended a really good and pretty prestigiious art school here in the states; which raised the bar considerably... now im not the only person and am certainly NOT the best. Point is NO matter how good you THINK you are there is always someone better, so she'll get hers and if ya want next time she says something BITCH slap her ass!!!( well careful on that last bit) Just keep up the practice and in no time you'll come up from behind on her!!! Until then keep posting and under our expert tutalidge you will be the best Drunken style illustrator!! mwuaha ha ha ha ah ha haaha!!

People laugh for 2 reasons:
When they are amused.
When they are nervous.
So, if your picture isn't actually funny then she's nervous.
May be you're a threat, even if you don't realise?
On the other hand, the picture is amusing... lighten up and laugh too.

I got that 'guy who draws' shit too at school. Got the piss taken out of me badly so i stopped drawing alltogether to fit in. Three years ago i started again. The point?...never let people stop u doing what u love. In the end all that matters is youre enjoying what u do not their small minded opinion.

Hey I got that 'girl who draws good' at school too, but the comments were positive, and made me feel a lil...hmmmm...smug? Until I got to highschool, where I met my rival! Lol, but we were 'friendly rivals', and even took the same art course in 6th form (its a UK thing) This was good though, he taught me some stuff and vice versa.
Yeah I bet it hurts when ppl laugh at your work, but just ignore them. Im in agreement with an earlier comment....she's probably intimidated by your art

waaa! thats mean of her! every artist has a begining, and nones the best.
i cant stand those people who think theyre better cuz they've been learning for years >_< bah! *curses random russian guy whos been going to art school at the age of 5 and snorts at cindys art*
gotta have respect for self taught artists even if they seem 'worse'

Yeah. I'm one of those "Guys that Draws" too, but it's mostly a good thing, but sometimes annoying because people constantly ask me to draw them stuff.
Man, if she's laughing at your work, she doesn't deserve a moment of your time, that's just rude when people do that!! She oviously doesn't know that thing called respect
Draw some pics of her falling off a cliff and dying or something......either for your own personal enjoyment or you can actually give them to her.......actually that last bit might get ya into trouble.

just ignore her - who cares what she thinks? It's not about her, it's about you enjoying yourself and your drawing... so sod her! you have the support of everyone here, so it doesn't matter!
I've never had anyone laugh at my drawings - though when my mates take a look I either get "ahh, that's good" (how very helpful, not) or "nice tits" (that's mostly from the guys)... and I've found drawing in public's sometimes a bit bad... people are SO nosy! They don't even pretend to be looking at something else, they just lean right over your shoulder and stare! That really irritates me, especially if I'm doing something that's not too good (or I don't think it is)...
anyway, just ignore the stupid girl. She sounds like a bit of a bitch.

Ah a bit of the arrogance syndrome, it's not worth worrying over :3 I'm the guy that draws too, not in a bad way tho, since I'm in an art school (I'm in webdesign, but the school also has animation, photography, and stuff like that). Sometimes I get to see what the animation students do, and well, that's quite a bit above my level

Hmm when she is better than you (drawing vize) how about asking her what she didnt like about it(could hit her offguard). Maybe you learn something new.
If she isnt nice than just ignore her.

I'll join in the art talk later! But for now - keep at it, or take a break, just do what makes you happy

Feeling pissed? somebody slated your art, I'd be pretty angry too :3 get an stocking fill it with sand and swing it around your head while running towards her XD
lol no seriously, don't give in. If it were me I'd be so determined to beat her, if not then don't take it too bad, accept it and work harder but always remember be cool an simle cos good sportsmanship is admirable and may make her think differently about you. Never know huh? X3
Ask her for help if need be you don't really want to make enemies with another artist Xp
Back in college I had a drawing rival myself XB he was into Joe Mad style and I had a wierd mixed manga style we'd both be awe in each other styles and praise eachother too XB no need for negative emotions cept I was jealous of his art and vise versa. Bastard liked showing off XB
A good mate not quite sure whats he up to now, I can't let him be better than me when we next meet tho >XB

..i agree with pix ...and also with kaori..hope i spelled that right..lol..anyways ...you do what interests you ....its about you expressing yourself not about how good the art is ..or how much better others are. at it..i iam ok ..i know that there is better then me ..but theres no point in picking a fight for it...just do what you can do ...iam sure in your eyes its better then anyone ...and thats beacuse of the value you have for it...not the skill...
