I am trying to export an image I lined in illustrator to Photoshop how wuld I do that? I tried just opening the image from photoshop but it is very grainy and low res.

what format did you save the image in illustrator in? I'm just assuming that's the way you did it, since I don't have illustrator myself...

oh btw I have illustrator 9 and photoshop 7 if thats any help.

have you tried saving it as .PSD in illustrator, or can't u do that? (i don't have illustrator myself, but i do have photoshop and know for a fact .PSD files work with it)

Apparently you place the vector EPS from Illustrator into Photoshop. Not having tried it yet, I couldn't tell you how that's done, but then perhaps someone else does?

Open a new image in Photoshop making sure it is of high enough resolution and dimensions for your intended output. Then open your .ai file in illustrator. Select the entire drawing and copy it to the clipboard. Now return to the blank image in Photoshop and select paste from the menu. A place dialog will open giving you the optiion to either rasterize the image, make a path, or paste as a new shape layer. If you select rasterize (I believe the wording of the dialog is "paste as pixels")a grey "ghost" of your vector art will appear in a bounding box with transform handles. Scale and position the artwork as you would like and then press enter, just as you would for any transformation in photoshop. A layer will now be generated containing an anti-aliased bitmap created from your vector art.

...Phew that was a bit long winded.
