Hi I took a fellow karbonite's advice and downloaded Open Canvas 1.1 since it's free.

I scanned a black and white image of a drawing of mine and started up the program. All I want to do is give my character a cool shade of green for his skin and some yellow for his dorsal fin and partial torso. The problem is that I'm not sure if there is a paint button where you can just click on any area of the picture like in paint, and that specified area turns to the color that is selected.

In this program is it possible to get any where near the cool shiny images like those of Photoshop or Painter? Or is Open Canvas just like the paint program on most computers that seems to be low quality?
This is my first attempt to color any drawing on a computer so u can see I'm in chaos.

OpenCanvas is made as some sort of a paint/watercolour simulator, and is as such a cheap and limited little brother of Painter. As you don't have a 'paint bucket' that fills closed areas irl, you won't need it in OpenCanvas. It's a little tricky to get used to, but I've seen people create great images with it, in quality equal to some Painter art.

I can't work with oC, because I'm more of a Photoshop person
