WOW strange just today in health we were talking about job choices and if u really want to get in to a manga school i would say the best choice would to go to a graphic design school that way u can work on drawing then get skills in turning them in to 3D and learn all the skills you would ever need for advertising and such thats the best i could think of ?

as much as i know there are no such things as manga art-school. they wont create a school just for one style of drawing. you can get animation schools and such though

Hmm, actually there are Anime/Manga art schools that focus just on that.

I found a slim few while browsing around.. But, you will only go to them if you wish to move to Japan and probably will have to know the language to some degree. Basic most seemed to look like "crap-classes" not the cool smooth stuff your aiming to learn. The few good ones that I've seen were high selective on experience arts/drawing/game programming that had some knowledge most tend to be age +24-40 from my memory. Sorry, I can't provide links since I didn't fully understand the language in half-US/Japan.

In the USA don't bother asking about Anime when you try to go to a True ArtSchool they don't consider it art really. I believe if you go to a few certain schools in the USA, you'll see some Anime work in Multi-media field. But, I think it's art if you go outside it's typical form. Since most anime has a certain look a "calculated effect" most schools will tend to say that. (I like anime) Don't get a wrong imagine from that all depends what you do with it.

Some think only anime is the cool stuff to draw, if your after some other cool styles try looking at some good fantasy art too.. that there is how move up the ladder into most fields. Basic just what Yuki H. said "oil paintings" cause they want to see you have the ability to creative mix sorts together.

I myself look in anime for good pencil work in some unique position.
