hey I've had my site for awhile now and I want to get alot more people to come to it i got polls art comic stuff storys forum and other stuff ao dose any one know good seach engines for like art or somthin

The most efective way of luring visitors is by simply having high quality content and a good site design. It will also encourage people to link to your site, ultimately placing you higher in google's ranking.

There are art directories, like OCAD: http://ocad.syste.ms/
The problem is, they're vast, so among thousands of sites, chances someone clicks yours are slim.

edit: oh, and it's a good idea to update frequently. It'll increase return visits.

I am familiar in many boards like this and I can tell 'em to visit this board, okay?
They are searching for somebody who could create a very good Comic... dealing with "Mega Man X Series" for example... so maybe this could be a new project?

I can't add much more than what Bugsy said.

It can be a challenge to create a sucessful website which attracts a lot of visitors. The site to begin with has to have a lot to offer visitors, then eventually people will wanna link it, or will mention it's worth checking out to their friends and whatnot

Of course, listing on lots of search engines and database sites can't hurt to help generate an occassional few hits.

I think you can also submitt your site to a search engine. If you wanna do that check your site provider.

Only critisism with the site is the fact the background image takes so long to load. It'd greatly improve the web site's performance if you could make it at least 10 times smaller in file size. Maybe see if you can get it down to around 10K or so?

Cool. It will of course load fast on your comp if you already have the image downloaded into your temporary internet files. Or if you're not on a 56K dial-up modem like myself I just need to wait a week before I'm on ADSL

my site really sucks don't it? I think i might redo mine at computer camp in a week(in other words i am going to comp camp in a week DUH! :P) any ways i think i'll make mine just a personal gallery so that way i can better store my "art" if u can call my chicken scratch that but i spos u guys can't since i only submited the one pic and it was a long time ago also it was fan art not an original. mmm

Tri Kento- I've noticed when I visit your web site, my download manager program keeps trying to download an MP3 file from the site. Perhaps you intended the mp3 to be playing in the background or there is a bad link or something?
