In Ben's book he states having a range of pencils "... from a hard 3H to a soft 2B". Could somebody (possibly Ben/Bomu)explain to me some basic differences between them and the best use for each?

Also.. I know how to do Web/Graphic Design in PhotoShop (6 and up) as well as Paint Shop Pro (pretty bad though). But this CGing of Manga graphics eludes me. Can anyone tell me a good book to refer to, a tutorial on a site, or explain a bit to me here on this subject.

Well i am not ben but i think i can explain i few of the advantages of having the diffrent pencils. 1st of each pencil will have a diffrent tone a HB witch i always use is most common it's not super dark nor is it a light pencil I haven't done ton's of looking into the diffrent types but i would recomend going to any art suppley store and asking for one of all the diffrent pencil types i would expext this to cost about 5-12$ depends on brands and such. then experment to find witch ones you like and such.

ok for the coloring part u don't need a book since this web site has a 10 out 10 rating tutorial(just make sure u have a bit of free time it takes a while to read but really worth it. And if that doesn't solve your problem you could just go on google and search CGing tutorial.

Tri_kento - Thank you for the help and advice. I am checking out the tutorial for CGing now, and I will buy those pencils soon as well. Thank you again.

tuigi - Yes, his book is called The Art of Drawing Manga. I obtained my copy at my local Barnes & Noble. I don't know if other stores carry it though. So if you'd like ot find it I suggest Barnes & Noble or probably the store on OM. Amazon.com has it as well now that I think about it.
