I take it you're talking about TAODM? You're right - full bodies are hard as you don't just have a head or hand to draw (which are tricky enough as it is!). In the book I have shown how a complicated full body pic can be simplified in a few steps- the first step is a series of curves and ovals used to get proportions right. This technique of using shapes can be applied to drawing other character, photos or from life.

But if starting out this way isn't working for you, perhaps just try practicing copying direct from life or photos, then stylising these drawings into manga style?

When stuck with anything, I can recommend is the three Ps! Practice, Perseverance and patience.

I'm afraid I can't email specific tips or write tutorials especially, as I'm asked this a lot and if I started helping everybody in this way, I'd end up having to give up my work and social life as it would take up all of my time.

Hahhaha, just make sure you don't mix your positive 3 Ps with the negative ones, namely Pain, Paranoia, and Procrastination, hahahha.

Great pic! You're friend drew that? It's always good to know cool artists personally who you can look up to, draw with, or compete agaist! It wasn't coloured with MS Paint though
