what is the best thing to cg images on the comp
photoshop 5.0,6.0,7.0,8.0 or photoshop elements or some other program and photoshop is so expensive compared to the other ones does anyone know why?

Photoshop 8 / CS is probably the best since they've spent more time developing it. I use 7, but version 5 and 5.5 were pretty good when I was using those. ver 7 has a much improved brush engine, but I never make use of it!

Paintshop Pro is pretty good- especailly for a cheaper alternative.

Photoshop's so expensive 'coz it's an industry standard piece of kit ment to be used by business' and professionals in the design industry. But I still think it's priced TOO high. (We don't encourage piracy, but I'm sure no one here would mind if you managed to find a full version over the net... I'll say no more)

Ehehehehehehe, whatever could you mean by that Bomu? I got mine legitimately...(ahem, yeah, right). Neways, I do recommend Photoshop 7, never used CS, someone's gonna have to tell me what that is like. But yeah, 7 is pretty good, brush engine is ultra cool as well, helped me do BG for 'Tifa Kicking' picture.
