I was just wondering, how long does it take you guys to draw and ink each drawing (on average)? I'm curious to know.

Well i've found that when i was young i would spend like maby 1/2 and hour to an hour ro draw and finsh, and well all my drawings sucked. But after i grew up a little I learned new tricks and styles and junk and soon my drawings looked better not good but better, then i grew a littlre more and i found my drawings have improved a great deal. but so had the time to draw my sketches. my avg time is about 4-5 hours 4 basic sketch then i'll make more copies and see if I can come up with a better sketch then i'll redo my final choice and ink it, takes about 1 week all together to get a drawing started and completed, not the whole week just a hour in and out each day.
so I don't know , depends on wat am drawing how detail i want it.mmm i spos it's like tootsie roll pop and how many licks it takes to get to the center, the world may never know.
well that's the best i can give later!

I am very slow to most. I see those guys at the fair and can not believe how fast they are. I don't time many pics that I do, but I did time the girl with guns I just drew. i must shamefully say it took me 30 hours start to finish,.... but in my defense I have no tablet.CGed with a mouse. It is in finished works if you want to see which peice i am talking about

Same as above! If it's a character illustration: Takes me about 30 minutes to actually think up an idea or pose, 2-5 hours to draw, 2-5 hours to ink or clean up. Then 3-20 hours to CG! It just depends on stuff like: - how much detail I put in - if I'm trying something new or not. - if i'm using reference or not - if I need to make amendments later. - if there's more than one character - if there's a hand drawn background (add on another 2-5 hours to draw and 5-15 hours to colour it!)
I think you get quicker by simply drawing more, as you learn how to make something look right first time without all the trial and error you have to first start out with.

You know getting the idea takes me quite a while, but once I have that, it takes on average 2 hrs to draw, depending on the size, about an hour to ink, but it can take anything up too a week for me to finish cging a piece, I have to keep coming back to the piece so I don't get bored of it!

I think Im on roughly bomu's timescale, but sometimes, if theres no background or something, my mind wanders and suddenly its done in just an hour or too. Cging has be taking me a whie recently though because I have been punishing myself with detailed lineart for some reason

sometimes i feel like when im goning to start a long pic its like dreading to go to work if i know i have to work for like 6 hours i'm like i dont wanta go and when i plan on drawing something that takes a long time i'm like i dont want start on it. you know sometimes ill draw something and it will go right and look good like the first time but other times i can work forever and never get it the way i want it. art work and time varies too much for me here the equation.
