right i'm doing this photo gallery site for my mates at work and i'm still experimenting with the layout.

basically if anyone's got any time i'd be grateful if they could check it out.

Carling Academy Birmingham Staff photo gallery

the green link doesn't work yet and there are a few other broken links but i know what they are.

the site is quite graphic intensive (and there will be a 'cut-down version') and i just want to know how annoying is it in comparison to most sites out there (concerning the loading times).

cheers

Seems to load up quite quickly on my computer. As far as the site itself goes, it's very simple and user-friendly, yet it looks really good as well. I like the way u've used symbols to cut down on the amount of text on there for links, quite stylish and easy on the eye at the same time.

Hey, nice. It loaded in about a second, so that's very good. It all looks good, tho I'm not too sure about the yellow outer glow on the rollover text. Keep it up!

yeah! looks good! it loaded well quick on my stoopid 56k modem too, so I'm impressed.

I like the general layout, specially the lil icons (the mouth, the hand and the blob). the one thing I noticed was that when I went into the gallery, I held the mouse pointer over on of the blobs and the text that came up was quite big and half of it was hidden behind the big brown box in the middle (sorry, don't know nuthin' about coding or websites, me! XD)
so yeah, I couldn't read that text properly. I could guess at what it said, but that's all.

otherwise, yeah! I agree with the other comments, but otherwise I think it looks spanky! XD

thanks for the c&c guys! i'm sorry i took awhile to reply (a bit rude, on my part) but been helping out the builders with my parents' home extension.

Angelo - cheers mate. i tried to use as little text for the navigation (mainly cos i always use text on my websites).

Bugsy - yeah the yellow does bug me a bit but i dunno if i'll change it or not. thank anyway.

Pixie - the rollover text was supposed to be large ( as in in your face) but i or anyone else i know (yet - apart from you) has had you prob. what browser you using? and at what resolution? glad you liked the rest tho and cheers.

i'm esp glad it all loaded up quite fast. that was a main concern of mine (don't we all hate pages that take a millenia to load up? )

ok back to finishing it (and listening to Arch Enemy)

lolz get that problem with deviant sometimes, takes about a year to load up. Solution: read a book while it's loading.
