Sounds like a well tought out project.

Serious I doubt that people will help you out with this spare amount of information.

so some pointers.
Will it be for a real game or just a mockup.
if it is meant to be for a real game
Who else gonna work on it.
For what system (PC(OS) gaming console)
What kind graphic engine is planned 3d, 2d targeted screen resolution.
Can you post a running bit of the game with stand in graphics?

some information on the story, world, characters.

In one sentence give as much information as possibly.

Otherwise I doubt much people will be interested, as most are allready quite busy (judging from the activity on this board )

i was planning on doing the background way before even deciding on any of the game type stuff like stats battle systems ect.
just designs for the world characters & concepts for the story

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREAT

if anything came of it we could send it as sort of the contributed org.metal ff.

I think I'll leave this one for the guys at Squaresoft to handle. I wonder how many people it takes to create a new Final Fantasy title and how long too? Perhaps 300 or so? Credits rolling up at the end of games these days can last for ages!

on a later thought:

i have some ideas they may help a little

-should contain something ancient (seems to be a recuring pattern in the ff series and other rpgs

-should be moulded to the structure of other ff games

-the characters'(including villain's) story should link together in some way

I'D LIKE BOMU TO WORK ON THIS BECAUSE I'VE SEEN HIS WORK

yeh but how many people does it take to do some sketches? & have a few ideas?

i'm sure there are plenty on this site who like the ff series

i recon most of the credits are for the computer type people not the ones with ideas and theones who do the concepts

True, nothing wrong with producing some sketchy goodness! I'm already in the middle of a project of my own though so can't commit to anything new right now- Giam's right, like usual!

never enough info i say!

so here is some inspiration for the type of characters:

-the characters usually follow this pattern
-main character :average sized has a sword
-his best mate :usualy larger & bulkier or can be smaller has maybe some special power or weapon. loves a good fight
-girl :the weakest one. usually has a pole or staff as weapon
-different race/tribe character:strong big quiet and mysterious
-villain :usually in ff a quiet dude with huge powers not to tall or built
-sub-villain/s :cocky, sneaky, annoying people who arent as evil as the villain just want something like money. mostly small weak types.

ok here it is the rough intro

note: i have made no names yet but bear with me

A boy who knows nothing of his family & parents lives in his hometown happily. until one day monsters appear and take over the town. the boy is asked by aman in a zeppelin to come to his uncle's house now. the boy and his two friends a boy & girl
want to see the world outside of thier town so they readily agree to go. the boys uncle lives across the mountains and a great sea.
he lives in a mansion and is an excentric inventor. he lives thier with his buttler. when the boy and his friends arrive questions spring up why did monsters appear? why did he not know of his uncle?

thats the rough intro. obviously there needs to be more detail added such as names.
any ideas what happens next or on it so far would be great. also any ideas on how the characters and places should look would be a big help

uhm, you should probably decide on where the story as a whole is headed first (the basic plan, an overview, and where you intend it end) before you start deciding what happens at the beginning and what sort of weapon the main character has. I'm not sure you appreciate just how difficult it is to write a story of final fantasy magnitude. Ok, it's not that difficult... but to do it well... I think it's a slightly overambitious project, but good luck to you anyway.
