The anime films i have are, Ghost in the shell, Patlabor 1&2, Tekken, street fighter 2, megazone 23 and Akira, i need to get some more, could somebody tell me about some good anime films.

A few days ago I watched a series called JoJo's Bizzare Adventure and it instantly managed to reach to the status of one of my favourite ever animes after the first few episodes! (Ok, it's not a film, but..) It's similar to Street Fighter, where a group of 6 speacial warriors travel to Egypt in search of Dio (Big boss guy that they all want revenge upon) and on the way they fight some of Dio's deadly assasins who are also special warriors. The reason they're special is 'cos they have a power called "Stand" which is like a Final Fantasy Summon that fights your battles for you, but you control it's moves. The good thing about Jojo is it has some really original ideas and the fights they have are very tactical- where they'll spend time thinking about moves and stratergies rather than bursting in without knowing exactly what they're up against, it sounds a boring, but it's in fact really refreshing and quite clever. So year, I'd try getting hold of that. And if not, go for Fist of the North Star (Another fighting anime). It's similar to Mad Max (the live movie with Mel Gibson), but replacing the more cocky Max, there's cool headed guy called Ken who fights against incredibly tough opponents to save his girl- lucky for him, he's not a push over, in fact his martial arts style is incredibly powerful and he can easily wipe away minions in the blink of an eye The film is better than the series, but both are worth checking out if you're into violent martial arts action

A few other good animes/series I can think of are (cyber punk, similar to GITS):
Battle Angel Alita, Angel Cop, Cyber City

There was a anime film or series i watched on TV once, it was called 3x3 eyes, it was the first anime film i have ever seen, from then on i was hooked, wat did you think of 3x3 eyes, and i have seen Fist of the North Star, it is a great film.

on the sifi cyberpunk front
look for Iria (also the real movies)
md Geist director's cut + md Geist 2
and Bubblegum Crisis (cool rock music)

oh and when you liked ghost in the shell
look for the playstation game ,you have to control a fushikoma and the Intro/cutscenes are animes but drawn in shirows style.(realy cool).

I have heard alot of good things about Gunsmith Cats, i have been looking for it, but i cant find it any where.

another movie I liked was Plastic little its a (hm I'm searching for a smile with nose bleeding) lets just say I liked it.
and Jin roh sounds good as well (i missed it when it was in cinema near).

No way dude! ^_~ The only place the movie is better than the series is in the gore department. The story in the movie is so messed up compared to the series...the Fist story is actually fairly developed, but very little of that comes across in the movie. I'm in the process of watching the *entire* series right now...I'm up to about episode 80, but I've got to wait for my connection to send me the rest. If you can find 'em, or if you can find the manga and some translations, I recommend getting beyond the movie and into the real story of Fist. Or...if you're just interested in gore, watch the movie. ^_~

I suppose. The UK and Europe definetly doesn't have half the selection of the US and the US don't have half the selection of the Japanese, but we do get some good stuff shown from time to time.. the bad thing is I have already seen 95% of them on video! In fact they've shown all the ones mentioned in this thread apart from Blood; TLV, GunSmith Cats, Plastic little (I think), Princess Mononoke, Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop, Iria, Kite, Trigan, Lain, Iria, NGE, and the most the ones I first mentioned... Ok, ok, so that's a fair bit, but the ones they do show is better than nothing - especially if you're not currently a huge fan and havn't watched 'em on vhs or dvd already.

didn't seen blood, but what I read and seen in the Print media so far sounded quite cool (ofcourse only if you like those rebelish Vampire hunts his own race for some unknown reason that started in his own past ).

btw. anyone seen Jin Roh allready I missed it in cinema and consider now buying the DVD.

we aren't getting much in cinema ether(I can count the movies I have seen in Cinema whit one hand, and as far as I know i missed 3 movies). and there are not shown the big cinemas only in the small ones who plays mainly the non mainstream stuff (they can't afford them).OK at our big con you can see more stuff in cinema.

for Jin Roh well I have this short manga playing in the same world (also drawn more realistic) and I liked it.But I just heard that there will be a special edition relaesed at the Con with a lot of bonus material maybe I wait till then.

And Bugsy, I went to France a few years ago, and didn't find any anything anime related besides Dragon Ball Z stuff- The french sure do love DBZ! I was obviously looking in the wrong places.. What are the prices like over there for anime?
