just seen it (they showed it yesterday in TV ) and I must say not bad.
The realistic style (drawing vise not the fights ) worked great.

The german synchro was impressiv for a Anime (almost Cinema lvl).
the cg fitted as well.
The story while different from the original version was well told.

so overall a movie that I can recommed.

tho jean was pretty soft compared to the manga version.

the manga does'nt cover much about mc dougal.
It is only said that they enhanced his brain, to boost the natural magnetic field of his brain (he doesnt have does wires in the manga).
That could 'cause instant brain death when he use it (I asume it could cause brain bleeding).

He died because the fight against Yu gave him headache (smaller wounds in his brain?) which distracted him so that Yu could stab him with his knive.

metalman your on the right track Katzuhiro Otomo(he created Akira) worked as a Supervisor on the movie.

yeah animeOptical the end of akira was rushed, but its no wonder the manga told the story over 2000 pages.

btw. the spriggan manga is 11 books long and each book contains two missions of Yu.
The story of the movie is one mission in book two.

next week comes angel sanctuary will see if I like it too.
