hehe was shopping today and switched to one of the the comic shops to see if there was something new.

and was almost leaving the shop when I saw that gits2 has finaly arrived.needless to say that i instantly cancled my shopping tour.

and moved home.

so what can I say about this book, its like a trip, its colorful, its a new experience its immersive,
and 90% the time you dont know what the heck is going on.

Personaly I dont like the 3d backgrounds that much,
and prefer the small passage that was full colored but with Shirows(or one of his assistant) handdrawn BGs.

Overall it is a cool mix of manga and some of the cg generated european comix you can get here (the coloring technic is nearly identical, but they come as A4 hardcover).

The story is hard to follow.
Even more tech talk than the first books, so I guess I have to read it one or two times more to fully understand it.

Only thing I realy hate about it is, that there is not one single fuchikoma *sniff*

Nope in German (thats better IMO ).

And a tv series, holy shit.
Now I have something new to wait.

I guess it will be in realistic style like the movie tho(like the shirow style more).

I kinda doubt,
it the story takes to 90% place in cyberspace overall the action is not that prominent (it is still good tho).

oh by the way for the tv series check this link out

I have the Japanese edition! Infact I got it the same week it came out in Japan so there

It looks pretty and explains what Shirow's been doing since his last works on the first GITS, AppleSeed Etc. I'd reccommend if for the pictures, but an English translated copy sure would be nice! I gotta admit I like the hand drawn BGs better as well, not that the 3D is crap or anything..

well I guess they keep the more realistic style from the movie.

But when those blue things you can see in the screenshots (on the site) are meant to be fuchikomas I will be dissapointed.

By spider mecha you're refering to the machine motoko is fighting in the end, right neo?

Thats not a fuchikoma here is a model of one.

They took them out of the movie dunno why.

And I would choose the fuchikoma over the stealth suit every given day for those reason.

The stealth suit is most effectiv when worn naked .

The fuchikoma on the other hand is armored,
has two machineguns,
plus a gattling gun,
can drive on weels,
is able to climb walls,
has a grappling hook
and has a AI build in, so it can operate on its on.

And last but not least it has a cloacking device aswell, cool ne .
